Recently I received a fax from a brilliant, conservative public affairs consultant based in the D.C. Beltway who is also a dear friend of this writer. In the fax he lists the top ten election issues that face the nation in the upcoming election as reported by the liberal-dominated national media and the alternative media. I offer for your consideration the list in it's entirety. May I suggest you use it as a ''Voters' Guide'' on Nov. 7.
As Covered by Liberal National Media

- The Mark Foley story (front page 24/7)
- Endless ''updates'' on the Mark Foley story
- Stories about how the cultural conservatives
won't vote in the congressional elections - Stories on why social conservatives will or
should stay home on Election Day - Interviews and articles on Bob Woodward's
book - Multiple stories on the ''Scooter'' Libby/Karl
Rove/Joe Wilson story (until it was shown to be
no scandal at all) - Articles on the unfairness of ''tax cuts for the
rich'' - Predictions of massive deficits caused by ''tax
cuts for the rich'' (until the budget deficit
figures came out way below estimates) - Articles on big spending by the Republicans
even though domestic spending, except for
automatic entitlement and homeland defense
spending, has been flat for several years - Articles calling President Bush just about
everything imaginable … starting with ''liar''
According to the Alternative Media

story - Coverage of the votes in Congress to monitor
the activity of terrorists: Conservative vote-in
favor, liberal vote-against - Coverage of the law passed by Congress for

amnesty or voting rights for illegals - Missile tests and nuclear weapons tests by
North Korea. Republican support for SDI

President Bush - Coverage of the War on Terror including
Iraq as a central front as well as the
consequences of cut and run - Coverage of gas prices rising above $3.00 and
coverage of the subsequent, massive gas price
declines - Coverage of the tax cuts passed by Congress
for all-income taxpayers producing economic
growth, more revenue and a much smaller
deficit - Coverage of proposals to increase energy
production by Conservatives in Congress - Conservative support for socially conservative
legislation - Coverage of the many conservative bills
passed by the House, killed by liberal filibuster in the Senate. Nomination of conservative judges by President Bush,
confirmation of two Supreme Court justices and others by the Republican Senate
By now most Americans realize the full-court press the media has used to run stories that lend as much support as possible to securing a Democratic victory in November. The issues that really impact Americans like low-unemployment, low taxes, low interest rates, record minority home ownership, a robust stock market, no domestic terror attacks in 5 years, and passing a border security bill; just to name a few, are all but drowned out by the constant barrage of Bush bashing and cheerleading for Democrats.

I cannot think of one story that credits anything good to any Republican for any act. Apparently the voting public really got it wrong in past elections when they gave the majority of seats to Republicans. That is if you believe the liberal-dominated media.
I am betting on the American people and their ability to see through the blatant media bias. Research reveals 34 percent of all media folks claim to be liberal, 53 percent claim to be moderate with only 7 percent claiming to be conservative. The missing 6 percent? Well they don't know what they are. The bias is unmistakable and the American people see it. They know who will keep them safe against terrorists and who will give the terrorists lawyers and ''rights.'' They know who will keep their taxes low and who will raise them. They know who will back up their words with action and who will want to negotiate with an enemy in the diluted hope that one day they will love us.
Nov. 7 will be a day when the people show the media they have overplayed their hand in trying to influence an election. Maybe then they will go back to true and honest journalism. Maybe then the front page will return to news instead of opinion and the opinion page can return to the last page of the front section. Maybe then the leaks of secret meetings and classified documents will remain secret so Osama doesn't get his intel from the front page of the NYT or some disgruntled ex-White House aid seeking 15 minutes of fame and a $100,000 advance on a tabloid trash book.
Ask yourself one final question before you vote. Are you comfortable with Bob Woodward on Meet the Press with Tim Russert, talking about minutes from secret meetings discussing our sensitive national security issues? Are you OK with how he obtained minutes and handwritten notes from secret classified meetings? And how he ''needed answers'' on why the administration wasn't sharing this with the public? Uhhh ... Bob, the meetings were secret. Who the heck is he?
So review your voters' guide and then get to the polls and vote. It is your responsibility as a citizen. And by the way, don't give me the old ''It is a choice between the lesser of two evils.'' No it is not. Especially if you prefer your town free of radioactivity and masked men roaming the streets with rocket launchers.

The media this year has made voting simple. Vote for the candidate they belittle, besmirch, and mock. That way you are sure to make the right decision. Literally.
