When the nuclear-obsessed North Korean government got angry about the pro-American antics of John Bolton, they threw a temper tantrum during which they called Mr. Bolton "human scum."

The derisive remark about Bolton was way off the mark; John Bolton has been one of the world's greatest champions for freedom and liberty.

In this world of zany dictators, murderous tyrants and terrorists, we could hold a pageant to search for the best contenders for who should wear the banner representing "human scum." But Jimmy Carter beats them out and deserves to have the crown all to himself.

This week saw new charges of lying, plagiarism and anti-Semitism directed toward Carter for a new book he's authored. These latest missteps reinforced what many of us have long known: Jimmy Carter is a bitter man who has recklessly celebrated tyranny, given cover to our enemies and undermined the forces of liberty.
No other prominent American has so often pursued appeasement and kinder treatment of the agents of evil: the communist Soviet bloc, the crack-pot communist regime in North Korea, the murderous communist regime in Cuba, Islamic radicals in Iran, Palestinian suicide sponsors, Islamic terrorist groups in the Middle East and Hugo Chavez's Marxist regime in Venezuela to name a few.
Not once has Carter's "be kind to the murderous forces of tyranny" approach brought about peace or harmony for the world's people. Instead he has undermined the standing of free nations in their efforts to spread the light of freedom and democracy throughout the world.

As WorldNetDaily reported last year, Carter embraced one of Saddam Hussein's Iraqi intelligence agents involved in the United Nation's oil-for-food scam, prior to the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Jimmy Carter has long been dogged by charges of an anti-Israel bias, but now the former peanut brain, excuse me, peanut farmer has decided he doesn't care if everyone knows his true antipathy toward the Israeli people.

In Carter's new book, "Palestine: Peace not Apartheid," he compares the Israeli government to the internationally condemned system of apartheid in South Africa. In doing so, Carter makes it clear that when it comes to the democratically elected government in Jerusalem versus the forces of Islamic terrorism, he is sympathetic to the side of the terrorists.
Since leaving office, Carter has repeatedly spoken out against the peaceful people of Israel and instead befriended the PLO terrorist leader Yasser Arafat, while working to pressure Israel to give more land away to the terrorists.

During the elections in the Palestinian territories, Jimmy Carter went so far as to travel to the region to validate the election of the terrorist group Hamas to head the government there. He went on to beg the international community to give millions of dollars in cash to Hamas, providing hollow assurances to the world that any money received wouldn't be used to fund the group's paramilitary and terrorist programs.
We've gotten such bogus promises before from Jimmy Carter when he promised us his special deal with the North Korean communist regime would mean a nuclear-free North Korea.

History proved it's best not to trust the promises of Jimmy Carter and his despot friends.
Earlier this year, I launched the Censure Carter campaign to hold Jimmy Carter accountable for his inexcusable conduct. We kicked off the effort in my column right here at WorldNetDaily.

Within days I was contacted by scores of people from Venezuela. These people were desperate to secure freedom and democracy for their nation, having lived under Marxist dictator Hugo Chavez's iron fist of fear.
They believed that Chavez had come to power in an illegitimate election, sanctioned by Jimmy Carter, and they wanted the world to know the truth.
Carter's response to these allegations has been the same "aww shucks, I can't be bothered with that" attitude that he has used every other time he has been criticized and caught for propping up authoritarian regimes.
Carter seems convinced that America is an "evil empire" and not the "shining city on a hill" that Ronald Reagan saw.
His allies in the political left and in the news media glorify Jimmy Carter's appeasement of terrorists and dictators. Jon Stewart had Carter come on "The Daily Show" so Stewart could absolve Carter of all his sins and heap endless praise on the former president.
Such foolishness trivializes the fact that millions of people now live under tyranny and untold thousands have died because of Carter's efforts since having left office. That's on top of those who suffered from his actions while in office.
Some people might be uncomfortable calling a former president of the United States "human scum," but when you consider how many people have lost their lives as Carter has sided with the forces of evil time and again, is there any other name that more appropriately describes this disgraced man?
