Barbara Simpson, a weekly WND columnist known to San Francisco as "The Babe in the Bunker" for her talk show on ABC's KSFO, has been presented with the "Excellence in Media Broadcasting Award" by Eagle Forum of California.

Simpson received the award Saturday night at the group's 6th Annual Education Conference in the Bay Area where she spoke on the subject, "The Sellout of America Through Media Silence."
"Barbara is one of the few courageous radio hosts who speaks out on all issues facing us including the betrayal of American sovereignty on all levels," the group said.

Eagle Forum was founded by Phyllis Schlafly, the national president. She also spoke at the event.
Simpson has been working in radio, television and newspapers for 20 years and has written a weekly column at WND since 2000. Simpson anchored the news on KTVU-Channel 2 for nine years and for two years anchored the original "Two at Noon." Prior to that, she anchored and did investigative reporting in Los Angeles for KNXT (now KCBS-TV) and KTTV. She's done talk radio in Northern and Southern California for KGO, KCBS, KFBK, KFI and KABC.
Her newspaper commentaries have appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Examiner, the Contra Costa Times, the Los Angeles Daily News, the San Diego Union Tribune, the Arizona Republic and the Indianapolis News.
