WND readers have taken to heart a warning from Theodore Roosevelt nearly 100 years ago, and have made – for the fourth straight week – the United States National Flag Lapel Pin, a simple, direct way to recognize the nation's heritage, their top choice at Shop.WND.com.

"From the melting pot of life in this free land all men and women of all nations who come hither emerge as Americans and nothing else," Roosevelt said in New York in 1917. "They must have renounced completely and without reserve all allegiance to the land from which they or their forefathers came. And it is a binding duty on every citizen of this country in every important crisis to act solidly with all his fellow Americans, having regard only to the honor and interest of America, treating every other nation purely on its conduct in that crisis, without reference to his ancestral predilections or antipathies. If he does not act, he is … not entitled to any part or lot in our country and he should be sent out of it."

With their choice, WND fans made clear their loyalty to the United States and their confidence the U.S. is the last, best hope for living in freedom in a time when it faces hate from international terrorists bent on imposing their lifestyle on freedom-lovers, attacks from its own citizens who want to denigrate or destroy its Christian origins, and an invasion by millions who have crossed its border illegally.
The respect shown is in sharp contrast to protesters in an incident publicized by a pro-patriotism group called Outraged Patriots.

That photograph, seen on the following billboard, is when activists put up a Mexican flag, with Old Glory flying in an inverted position – which actually represents a signal of distress – on the same flagpole.

"We have no issues with the race of ANY American," the Outraged Patriots said. "This is NOT about race. But, we do have a major problem with anyone who enters this country illegally or who desires to inflict damage upon our country and our way of life. If you are an illegal alien or a terrorist, then it is YOU that we have a problem with. If you get here legally and respect our laws and our way of life, then we welcome you aboard."

WND's flag pin allows the patriotic to express themselves. "'Wear' your patriotism and show others your support of our great country," it promotes.
The faithful depiction of the America flag is a die-struck jewelry piece that tells family, friends and even strangers, of the wearer's loyalty. The flag is about an inch tall, with colored enamel fill, 18-karat gold plating and an epoxy dome finish.
"We definitely remember a time when Americans would have protested by the thousands had they witnessed illegal aliens protesting on OUR sacred American soil by raising the Mexican Flag above an upside down American Flag!" the founders of Outraged Patriots said.

In second place is "Shooting Back: The Right and Duty of Self Defense," by Charl Van Wyk.
His eye-opening book answers the question: What to do if armed terrorists break into your church and starting attacking your friends with automatic weapons in the middle of a worship service.

He makes a biblical, Christian case for individuals arming themselves with guns, and does so more persuasively than perhaps any other author because he found himself in a church attacked by terrorists.
"Grenades were exploding in flashes of light. Pews shattered under the blasts, sending splinters flying through the air," he recalls of the July 25, 1993, St. James Church Massacre. "An automatic assault rifle was being fired and was fast ripping the pews – and whoever, whatever was in its trajectory – to pieces. We were being attacked!"
But Van Wyk was not defenseless that day. Had he been unarmed like the other congregants, the slaughter would have been much worse.
"Instinctively, I knelt down behind the bench in front of me and pulled out my .38 special snub-nosed revolver, which I always carried with me," he writes.
Eleven died and dozens were injured in the attack, but Van Wyk is credited with saving numerous other lives, because he returned fire.
In third was "Mysteries of the Dead Sea Scrolls," a DVD presentation.
In three parts it addresses the science, geography and history behind the Dead Sea Scrolls, described by many as the greatest archeological discovery of all time, fascinating insights into the ancient Hebrew language, and how a few brave men brought the Scriptures to the world during the Dark Ages.
"'Mysteries of the Dead Sea Scrolls' will take you a fascinating journey and give you a firm grasp of God’s sovereign hand behind the preservation of the Bible and the unfolding of history," the documentation says.
