Al Gore hates blind people

By WND Staff

Al Gore is on a roll. Fresh off his Oscar for his movie “Manmade Global Warming is Going to Kill Us All,” he has now won the “interactive television services” Emmy for his youth-oriented cable network, Current TV. No, you’ve never watched it and you probably don’t have it on your cable service, but that’s simply because the Bush administration is keeping it from you. It’s very important TV. You can watch “The Art of Consumption” where a man photographs 3.6 million tire valve caps to symbolize the number of evil SUVs sold in America in 2005. The man says, “The American culture is like a frat party and it’s four in the morning … and we’re all laying (sic) around in pools of our own vomit.” That’s deep.

But awards can’t hide the inconvenient truth that Al Gore hates blind people. It’s one of the many unintended consequences of the efforts to stop global warming by decreasing CO2 emissions. The hybrid and electric cars Gore tells you to drive are so silent, blind people can’t hear them coming. The National Federation of the Blind wants automakers to add noisemakers to the vehicles.

Al also wants us to switch to ethanol and other biofuels to save the planet. But a new study by Stanford professor Mark Z. Jacobson concludes that pollution from ethanol would likely be worse than from carbon-based fuels. In some areas, we would have increases in ozone and smog that would lead to more respiratory illnesses and deaths (Gore hates asthmatics). Biofuel mandates are already resulting in higher food prices worldwide. Mexico experienced riots over the price increases in corn tortillas (Gore hates Mexicans). The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development says, “The current push to expand the use of biofuels is creating unsustainable tensions that will disrupt markets without generating significant environmental benefits.” Oops.

The planet has warmed recently. Is it manmade warming? Will it produce more harm than good? Can we do anything to change it? Are the costs worth trying to change it? Why am I talking in questions? Gore thinks we have a consensus on all this. We surely do not.

Ice is receding in the Arctic, but growing to record levels in Antarctica. Some Russian scientists believe the Earth has stopped warming and we may enter another cooling cycle in the next 10 years.

The Earth has been through countless cycles of warming and cooling. The warming cycles have been better for man than the little ice ages.

  • Most of the warming happens during the winter months, which results in a longer growing season. An increase in CO2 in the atmosphere translates into more food production (Gore hates farmers).

  • More deaths are tied to cold weather than hot weather. British scientists estimate cold weather can be blamed for 20,000 to 40,000 deaths a year (Gore hates the British).

  • Estimates are that we will spend much less on energy to warm our homes during the winter months than we will to cool our homes in the summer months.

We are already seeing some of the benefits of global warming. The receding ice in the Arctic is opening up new shipping lanes from Europe to Asia saving time, effort, money and fuel.

There are negatives to global warming, but the positives outweigh them. It matters not to the Goreaphiles. They are already pressing us to spend trillions of dollars on schemes that even believers admit will do nothing statistically significant to reduce the global temperature. These efforts will continue to have unintended negative consequences on our wallets and our health.

Sorry, Al, awards can’t change the truth.
