The Terminator is at it again. Only this time he seems bent on terminating what's left of childhood innocence in California public schools.

In a bold and terribly misguided power play, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger last week signed into law a measure, SB 777, dictating that public school children be taught bizarre perversions such as cross-dressing and transsexualism. What's more, the bill muzzles teachers from using such three-letter words as "mom" and "dad" in the classroom and turns children into the guinea pigs of the radical homosexual agenda.
Still, millions of public school parents across our nation will continue insisting that their child's school is honorable, despite the chorus of facts to the contrary.
It seems that most public school parents refuse to realize the obvious – not only do public schools fail children academically, but they also immerse them in the secular fundamentalist dogma of evolutionary theory, revisionist history, socialism and sexual practices that would make Larry Flynt blush. Is it any wonder we see so much societal decay?

Since California has fine-tuned the art of exporting its immorality, only the hopelessly na?ve would expect legislation similar to SB 777 not to crop up in schools around the country. Pro-homosexual/pedophilic forces are at work throughout the nation, pushing state legislatures, city councils and school boards to adopt measures furthering the cause of perversion. Tragically, they are succeeding in many cases.
So why are most public school parents slow to catch on?

In part, it is because they hope to resuscitate a terminally ill educational system. As a case in point, the Capitol Resource Institute in California is urging parents to spend countless hours and money calling for a referendum allowing the issue of SB 777 to come to a public vote. Karen England, chief of CRI, indicated the situation is challenging, but she feels that we "are called to defend California families, and this is our only chance at protecting our future in this state."
Did she say it's our only chance? England, along with millions of parents, is missing the point. This isn't simply about a law being forced on families in the state of California, although that is important. Rather, the core issue is identifying the strangers who have control over the minds and hearts of our children five days a week.

As Dr. Bruce N. Shortt illuminates in his ground-breaking book "The Harsh Truth About Public Schools," "The average parent doesn't have any idea what is really going on at the local government school. … It is a virtual certainty that he knows nothing important about the teacher's moral beliefs, religious commitments, level of literacy, knowledge of subject areas, social views and so on."
Given the preponderance of sexually laden material being foisted upon children as young as five – along with rampant news stories detailing child molestation by school teachers across our nation – it's not unreasonable to assert that public education is in bed with the pro-pedophilic lobby.

This is not to say that all educators are in agreement with the homosexual agenda. They're not. But the tide has turned in the perverts' favor so much that any teacher or administrator openly affirming decency is likely to be harassed, disciplined or outright dismissed. And, tragically, many teachers are not willing to take the hit. Imagine what an incredible effect it would have if masses of teachers became vocally active on the abuses they're witnessing.
In contrast to England's idea that public schools can be reformed, E. Ray Moore, director of Exodus Mandate, insists that it cannot be done. "The longer they talk about saving public schools, the longer they prolong this agony, when they could be setting up new schools," Moore said. He added, "If traditional-minded people abandon that system in enough numbers, it will implode. By leaving your children there, as a Christian you're exposing them to extreme moral danger. You can't immunize them with a few hours of Bible study during the week." The fact that 85 percent of Christian children are losing their faith by the time they graduate public school proves his point.

So why are public school parents such slow learners when it comes to understanding that public schools are finished? As T.C. Pinckney said in his 2001 address to the Southern Baptist Convention Committee, "We have failed because we have been willingly, blissfully ignorant … and satisfied in our ignorance. We have failed because the great majority of us have not made the effort to inform ourselves of the facts … even though there are books and articles galore readily available. We have failed because – even when we have known the facts – we have not had the courage to point them out to our people."
In the birth pangs of delivering a barbaric society, we are witnessing the silence of the church pulpit today – leading to the silencing of the church tomorrow. So much for spreading the gospel.

Hosea 4:6 is prophetic of the road our nation is taking if hearts are not changed. "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee … seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."
