WND founder Joseph Farah told Neil Cavuto's "Your World" on Fox News Channel today his campaign to open up more of America's reserves for oil drilling and production isn't a hard concept to understand.
"[Senate President Harry] Reid and [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi are telling the American people it won't even make a difference, it won't bring prices down," he said. "What they want to do is repeal the law of supply and demand. Everybody with an elementary school education understands if there's more oil on the marketplace the prices will come down."
Farah launched a campaign "to bring Congress to its knees" and lift the moratorium on offshore oil drilling – changing hats from journalist to activist – because of his frustration with the congressional leadership's refusal to allow members to vote on legislation to lift the ban – even as gasoline prices continue to rise to $5 a gallon and above.

He's encouraging everyone to call and e-mail their congressional representatives and senators demanding action.
"We can do this. The American people are really suffering from the skyrocketing oil and gas prices. It's affecting real people, real families and it's hurting our economy," Farah said.

"The polls show 85 percent of American people believe we should lift the moratorium on offshore drilling, [the] vast majority are for expanding drilling in ANWR and so forth."
"I believe if the American people get on the telephone and call their representatives and senators, fill up their e-mail boxes, melt down the Capitol switchboard, we can have an impact before they make an escape from Washington in late September," he said.

"I really believe this is one of those times we can make a difference."
He said Reid and Pelosi simply have determined not to allow a vote.
"They know this is an election year and they have to answer to the people," Farah said.
"We've got a national crisis here, and Congress is playing politics," he said earlier in announcing his campaign. "We've got 75 days to make our voices heard. Let's make history by bringing this recalcitrant body of elitists into compliance with the will of the people and the rule of law."
Farah says the only thing that can prevent the disaster of gasoline prices of $6, $7, even $8 a gallon in the near future is a general uprising of the American people.

Farah cited the Dubai port deal and so-called "comprehensive immigration reform," which were killed by popular uprisings in recent years.
"But this time, we won't just be stopping something bad from happening. We will be doing something that is very good for the country – something that will improve the lives of all of us, something that will improve national security, something vital for the future of the nation," Farah said
