Greetings from Colorado. While the country focused on the last debate between Sen. Barack “Government” Obama and Sen. John McCain, I’m running around the country trying to bolster candidates who stand strong with our men and women in the military. Our country is leaning dangerously toward a socialistic society in which our military is used solely to help people hurt by natural disasters rather than maintaining its strength as the No. 1 fighting force in the world.
I, of course, kept an eye on Wednesday’s debate. But unlike the talking heads who kneel at the altar of Obamania, I saw a clear and decisive victory by McCain. He wiped the floor with Obama on taxes, health care and Obama’s relationship with unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers. Dick Morris wrote in the New York Post yesterday that Obama will immediately benefit from the debate, but McCain may gain some ground in the long run.
“Obama took the worst that McCain could hand out and came out looking good. McCain was the more aggressive debater, but Obama looked like the better president,” Morris wrote. “The constants of the debate remained. Obama is smoother, prettier, younger and more presidential.”
I suppose you could give Obama points for style, if you consider it stylish to lie while looking like a scared moose in Sarah Palin’s headlights.
Maybe that’s why uninformed voters like Obama. He is a slick politician who can make a strychnine-laced latte taste good. It’s sad that 50 percent in polls say they like the quick-change artist. If they’d pay attention, voters would know what Obama told Joe the plumber the other day: Obama plans to take money from middle class workers and redistribute it to those who don’t want to work as hard. It’s called socialism.
Anyway, I’m on the road with Move America Forward’s Political Action Committee to ensure that, if Barack Obama wins the keys to the White House, he doesn’t have a free run in the House and Senate. We’ve all heard the dire warnings that Americans are ready to put Obama in the White House and give him a Democrat House and Senate that can withstand a filibuster.
The Democrats smell blood in the water. But it’s not too late for Americans to wake up and smell the coffee.
“Anticipating a wave, the DNC is considering using as much as $20 million to help down-ballot candidates, says a Democratic strategist familiar with the committee’s planning,” Jonathan Martin wrote in the Politico.
Money does talk, but we patriotic Americans walk. That’s why MAF-PAC flew to Colorado to hold endorsement events for Rep. Marilyn Musgrave and Bob Schaffer. Congresswoman Musgrave has been a staunch supporter of our troop. Go to this commercial and you’ll see why MAF-PAC endorsed her.
The Democrats don’t care much about a person’s record with our veterans and military. They are pouring money into the campaign against Musgrave because they want socialist leadership. As one website says, these leftists are on the march to turn the USA into the United Socialist States of America.
MAF-PAC is also backing Bob Schaffer for U.S. Senate in Colorado. This is an easy one. The Democrats put up lefty Mark Udall. Udall’s claim to fame is that he co-sponsored legislation to create a federal “Department of Peace.”
Let’s see. A Department of Peace. How nice. They could meet without precondition with murderous thugs and dictators, such as Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. They could promise to unilaterally disarm so only Iran, North Korea and other enemies can have nuclear weapons. I’m sure if Obama wins, he’ll contact Cindy Sheehan right away and ask her to join his Cabinet as the czar of the Department of Peace.
An Obama presidency will decimate our military, increase welfare rolls, socialize our health care and take away our guns and conservatives’ rights to free speech. A veteran friend wrote to me and asked an important question that each of us should consider when we vote.
“I’m a two-time Iraq war vet. There are enough people in the military who will be sufficiently disgusted by an Obama presidency that they will leave. They will get out primarily because they see him as a ticket to failure in Iraq and Afghanistan and obviously a guy who is anti-military,” my friend wrote. “It happened under Bill Clinton in the 90s.
“Wouldn’t that tip the scales on an already thin military and mean Obama would have to institute a draft? With Dem control in Washington, who’s to stop them?” he continued. “I believe a vote for Obama is a vote for a reinstitution of the draft. I wonder how many voters would decide not to vote Obama if they knew that.”
