Phil Boyce |
ABC radio programming guru Phil Boyce – who was instrumental in launching such shows as Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Matt Drudge – has joined radio powerhouse Talk Radio Network, which syndicates national shows by Michael Savage, Laura Ingraham, Monica Crowley, Jerry Doyle, Rusty Humphries, Mancow Muller, Phil Hendrie, Tammy Bruce, Michio Kaku and others.
Boyce will become president of Talk Radio Network Syndications and hold the position of president of Programming for the following Talk Radio Network companies: The Original Talk Radio Network, Talk Radio Network Enterprises, Talk Radio Network Entertainment and Talk Radio Network-FM.
In welcoming Boyce's move to TRN after 14 years at ABC, Talk Radio Network CEO Mark Masters said: "There is nobody in the radio industry that has more experience in programming and harvesting new talent than Phil Boyce."
"This is a natural transition for me," said Boyce, "and I felt the timing was perfect for me to strike out as an entrepreneur. The best of them is Mark Masters."
Boyce added, "I was always a multi-tasker, and I became a syndicator out of necessity so I could make sure my shows had the TLC it takes to make it. I patterned much of my success after what I learned from Mark. It makes perfect sense for us to join forces now, and help radio out of this difficult economic situation."
Boyce served as vice president of News/Talk programming for ABC Radio and later Citadel, where he created such hit shows as Curtis and Kuby, Matt Drudge, Sean Hannity and Mark Levin, the last three of which became syndicated.
