Muslims, whose Shariah law is advancing into the West to the point the U.S. Treasury is teaching “Islamic Finance,” soon will be given access to their own online gaming.
According to an industry website, the Muxlim Pal program is “specifically designed for members of the Muslim community, although its makers stress that anyone with an interest in the faith are also welcome to join.”
The virtual world online game places players in charge of an avatar, according to Muxlim.com.
“We are not a religious site, we are a site that is focused on the lifestyle,” said Muxlim spokesman Mohamed El-Fatatry.
“This is for anyone who is remotely interested in the Muslim culture and the Muslim lifestyle. From what we have seen from our market research is that most Muslims have a lifestyle that is not so different from everybody else,” he said. “They all share the core values which are from Islam then beyond that they actually have made identities, they have many interests.”
Officials say a public release of the game is scheduled next year, and they expect there will be some changes in the action before then.
But as it is presented now, it features a cartoon-style virtual world for players to battle to better themselves and their lifestyles by carrying out various “tasks.” Various rooms are available and chores are presented.
According to a report in the Daily Mail of London, the game “promotes” an Islamic lifestyle, with each “pal” in the game given a number of “meters” for spirituality, happiness, fitness and knowledge.
“As no other virtual world offers a family-friendly environment for our community, we felt there was a need to cater for the people who were being left out,” said El-Fatatry.
