An activist organization has posted a video on YouTube challenging members of the Electoral College to investigate the dispute over Barack Obama’s birth certificate and eligibility for office.
The U.S. Constitution requires that the president be a “natural born” citizen, but the organization, Democratic-Disaster.com, says instead of providing the documentation, Obama has hired three law firms to make certain the public does not have access to it.
That’s where the electors come in, according to the organization. The group says they have the “moral and constitutional obligation” to investigate and be assured of Obama’s eligibility.
The video is at the link, and also can be viewed here:
More than a dozen cases have been brought over Obama’s eligibility already, many of which have been dismissed summarily. However, three have reached the U.S. Supreme Court, and others remain in that pipeline. The court has rejected one, is debating a motion in a second and has a conference still scheduled on the third.
WND reported last month on what could be a “constitutional crisis” over the issue. The concerns were raised in a lawsuit in California, with lead plaintiff former presidential candidate Alan Keyes asking state officials to prevent Electoral College members from voting for Obama until they investigated his eligibility, a case being handled by the United States Justice Foundation.
WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi had gone to both Kenya and Hawaii prior to the election to investigate issues surrounding Obama’s birth. But his research and discoveries only raised more questions.
The biggest question was why, if a Hawaii birth certificate exists as his campaign has stated, Obama hasn’t simply ordered it made available to settle the rumors.
The governor’s office in Hawaii said there is a valid certificate but rejected requests for access and left ambiguous its origin: Does the certificate on file with the Department of Health indicate a Hawaii birth or was it generated after the Obama family registered a Kenyan birth in Hawaii?
Obama’s half-sister, Maya Soetoro, has named two different Hawaii hospitals where Obama could have been born. There have been other allegations that Obama actually was born in Kenya during a time when his father was a British subject. A one point a Kenyan ambassador said Obama’s birthplace in Kenya already was being recognized.
The California case for which Keyes is a plaintiff states: “Should Senator Obama be discovered, after he takes office, to be ineligible for the office of president of the United States of America and, thereby, his election declared void, petitioners, as well as other Americans, will suffer irreparable harm in that (a) usurper will be sitting as the president of the United States, and none of the treaties, laws, or executive orders signed by him will be valid or legal.”
The new video raises its own warnings.
“Electors have a right to request credentials of a candidate,” it says. “Electors have a duty to the country over any pledge to the party to vote their consciences.
“You must have no doubt the candidate meets the natural born citizenship and age requirements,” it continues.
It cites the “certification of live birth” that the Obama campaign posted on the Internet as documentation of his birth as inadequate because it includes no information about a hospital, a midwife, a doctor, a location and is not traceable.
“Obama has the ability … to resolve this matter, [but hasn’t,]” the video says. “The only reasonable explanation is that he doesn’t have a document that shows he was born in the U.S.”
The video is just the latest effort to establish clarity for the public regarding Obama’s birth. WND earlier launched a letter campaign to contact Electoral College members and urge them to review the controversy.
