An openly homosexual Time magazine reporter calls Barack Obama a "bigot" and a "problem for gays" following the president-elect's invitation to Pastor Rick Warren to give the invocation at his upcoming inauguration ceremony.
John Cloud has written a variety of articles for Time, with topics ranging from his 11-page article about Ann Coulter to Eliot Spitzer, health and science subjects, elections, private versus public schools and even an article that even suggests parents drink with their kids to solve the nation's obsession with binge drinking.
But Cloud is best known for his plethora of homosexual-themed pieces, including: "Outing Dumbledore," "Are Gay Relationships Different?," "The Gay Mafia That's Redefining Liberal Politics," "Revisiting 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'" and "Not Separate, Just Equal."

Now Cloud has set his sights on Obama.
"Gays and lesbians are angry that Barack Obama has honored Warren, but they shouldn't be surprised," Cloud wrote in an article titled "The Problem for Gays with Rick Warren – and Obama," in Time's Dec. 18 edition. "Obama has proved himself repeatedly to be a very tolerant, very rational-sounding sort of bigot."

Cloud's sexual orientation and background are not mentioned in the article, but he accuses Obama of opposing equality for homosexuals and the "basic recognition of their relationships."
In his Jan. 2008 Time article, "Are Gay Relationships Different?" the reporter vividly describes his personal relationships with male partners.

"We were so happy, our love unshakable," he wrote. "I went home with Michael the night we met, and figuratively speaking, I didn't leave again for those 7 1⁄2 years."
In his earlier days as a reporter for the Washington City Paper, Cloud described his first-hand experience and arousal at a Washington, D.C., group-sex party for homosexuals in 1997. His report was sexually graphic and filled with expletives.
"I like a little sleaze," Cloud wrote near the end.
In another Time cover story, "The Battle Over Gay Teens," Cloud cites a book that claims average homosexual teens tend to come out "just before or after graduating high school."
The article also features Michael Glatze, founding editor of Young Gay America magazine, who "came out" of the gay lifestyle on WorldNetDaily just last year. In his column, Glatze called homosexual sex purely "lust-based," meaning it can never fully satisfy.

In his most recent article, Cloud doesn't mince words when he attacks Obama for his alleged nonsupport of same-sex marriage. He said the president-elect has falsely presented himself as a proponent of homosexual rights.
"Obama also said today that he is a 'fierce advocate for equality' for gays, which is – given his opposition to equal marriage rights – simply a lie," he wrote.
Cloud said many of his homosexual friends donated money to Obama's campaign, and that puzzled him.

"The favored explanation was that he doesn't 'really' believe gays shouldn't be allowed to marry; he just has to say that in order to win," Cloud wrote. "People seemed to feel that once he had won, he would find a way – in his contemplative style – to help convince Americans that gay people really do deserve basic equality."
He continued, "Instead, he has found a way to insult gay people deeply."
Cloud said Obama "loves to raise money," and he won't want to risk upsetting "gay" donors and fundraisers.
"Having picked Warren to pray at the Inauguration and Republican Robert Gates to stay on at the Department of Defense," he wrote, "Obama will now have to do something nice for the gays."
He then made a suggestion for Obama by citing a Washington Times report indicating that retired military leaders are backing William White, an openly homosexual man, for secretary of the Navy.
"That would be cool," Cloud wrote. "But I'm not getting my hopes up."
