Monsters with air conditioning

By Melanie Morgan

I’ve looked into the eyes of terrorists and I’ve seen the professionalism with which our troops treat the monsters.

I just returned from a trip to Guantanamo Bay with my nonprofit group, Move America Forward, the nation’s largest grass-roots, pro-troop organization. We took thousands of goodies to thank our troops for their professionalism. We thought this was highly appropriate given President-elect Barack Obama wants to close Gitmo (despite danger to American citizens). And we wanted to see with our own eyes if the big mouths and leftist attorneys who talk smack about our troops’ treatment of the terrorists are lying. They are.

Here’s what I know for sure: The terrorists at Gitmo are given more religious consideration than our troops, they get more meal plans, they live in air-conditioned state-of-the-art buildings, and they get more playtime than American school children.

Sounds like real torture, huh?

You know the pictures of prisoners that the mainstream media show you? Those are exercise cages where American troops have painted arrows pointing to Mecca so the radical Muslims can pray five times a day. They don’t sleep in those areas. Nope. They have air conditioning.

My group and Kylie Williams, Miss Florida 2007, just got back to the states in time for Christmas. We left behind thousands of our men and women who are far from home. They not only keep the most dangerous terrorists in captivity, they also hold the line against the Commies in Cuba.

Each soldier, airman, Marine, Coastie and sailor was so happy to see Americans who have come to show them respect – something they must give to the terrorists unless they want to face a barrage of negative media and liberal lawyers.

“It makes us sick when people tell lies about what we do,” one soldier said. “We are proud to represent America and we do nothing to shame our commander in chief or the American people.”

Hear that, Barack Obama? With all due respect, Mr. Obama, you need to cut your Hawaiian vacation short and head to Gitmo and thank those troops yourselves. Your political party has done nothing but demean our men and women in uniform, and you must see with your own eyes how well American troops treat these terrorists.

Mr. Obama: You owe it to our troops and you owe it to the Americans who will be in jeopardy if you bring those monsters to the United States.

Let me tell you about the torture we put these poor terrorists through. First, let me remind you of the characters inside the air-conditioned prison. The mastermind of 9/11, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, is kept there.

Then there’s Abd al-Rahim al-Nashir. He allegedly planned the attack on the USS Cole on Oct. 12, 2000, the failed attack on the USS The Sullivans on Jan. 3, 2000, and the attack on the French supertanker SS Limburg on Oct. 6, 2002. Not exactly somebody you’d have over for Christmas dinner.

The creep has some sympathizers, such as Human Rights Watch, which “expects the use of evidence allegedly obtained through abuse to be a central concern in his case,” according to Human Watch. Never mind that a Yemeni court already sentenced him to death for his murderous behavior. It’s all the Americans’ fault!

So how do Americans torture them? Well, they have air-conditioned rooms. I don’t even have air conditioning. They get to choose their meals in advance from a menu of six meal plans. The really bad boys, like al-Nashir and Mohammed, get to watch movies sitting in an overstuffed couch. Popcorn is an extra treat when they’re extra nice.

We all know we must not offend terrorists. So before women can visit the detainee camps, we had to cover our arms and legs and necklines – despite the Cuban heat and humidity. Women’s skin is disruptive for these beasts. During one episode of violent outbursts, the terrorists saw a Palmolive commercial in which part of a woman’s arm was revealed. They smashed the TV and tore up the TV room. The response by America: Give them a new flat-screen TV.

The MAF entourage dressed accordingly. And the reaction from the terrorists? They offered hateful stares and throat-cutting gestures. Yes, Obama, these are exactly the kind of people we want in America.

America is beautiful, and our troops are the most selfless human beings to exist. I despise the fact that ACLU and liberal Democrats have bashed our handling of these terrorists. It hurts our troops, who have done nothing wrong.

I hope the New Year and new commander in chief will leave us as safe as home as our troops have made it for us since 9/11.
