President Obama remains confident he can make progress by communicating with Iran, Jerome Corsi’s Red Alert reports.

In an ABC News interview on Jan. 11, Obama repeated his campaign promise that he plans to work with the Islamic republic directly, suggesting once again that his administration could take a “new approach,” emphasizing “respect and a new willingness to talk.”

Obama’s remarks cause seasoned Iran observers to contemplate his inexperience in foreign policy, Corsi wrote.

Iran resisted eight years of Bush administration persuasion through the International Atomic Energy Agency, the European Union nations of Great Britain, Germany and France, as well as U.N. Security Council sanctions.

“Despite all this international pressure, Iran continues to enrich uranium,” Corsi wrote. “What difference is Obama going to make?”

Last Tuesday Iranian protesters burned a poster of Obama during a demonstration in support of Hamas, held in front of the Swiss Embassy in Tehran.

“Iran will certainly be happy to go along with Obama, as long as Obama allows it to continue enriching uranium while operating a secret nuclear weapons program,” Corsi contends. “The problem is that Israel, facing general elections this February, has shown a renewed toughness dealing with Middle East terrorists that openly threaten its existence.”

While Obama enters office confident he can reason with Iran, the price of oil stands in the balance, Corsi contends.

Now Red Alert’s author, whose books “The Obama Nation” and “Unfit for Command” have topped the New York Times best-sellers list, argues Obama bailouts plus increased tension in the Middle East are almost certain to put upward pressure on oil, beginning at the latest this spring.

Corsi received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in political science in 1972. For nearly 25 years, beginning in 1981, he worked with banks throughout the U.S. and around the world to develop financial services marketing companies to assist banks in establishing broker/dealers and insurance subsidiaries to provide financial planning products and services to their retail customers. In this career, Corsi developed three different third-party financial services marketing firms that reached gross sales levels of $1 billion in annuities and equal volume in mutual funds. In 1999, he began developing Internet-based financial marketing firms, also adapted to work in conjunction with banks.

In his 25-year financial services career, Corsi has been a noted financial services speaker and writer, publishing three books and numerous articles in professional financial services journals and magazines.
