TEL AVIV, Israel – There are hundreds of Muslim “fighters” from around the
world receiving military training in the Egyptian Sinai desert where they are
waiting to enter the bordering Gaza Strip, according to a senior terrorist
interviewed by WND.
“These fighters have money, weapons. They are waiting to enter Gaza and
receiving trainings in the Sinai,” said the Gazan terrorist, a top member of
the Popular Resistance Committees, a Hamas-allied group responsible for a large
number of recent attacks against Israel.
“The thing that is preventing them from coming in is an agreement on the
borders,” said the Committees leader, who spoke only on condition of anonymity.
Israel, Egypt and Hamas are brokering a border agreement that would place
international monitors along the Egypt-Gaza border crossings, which are
currently almost entirely shut down. Previously, such monitors failed to stop
terrorists from crossing into and out of Gaza. The monitors, installed after
Israel’s historic retreat from the Gaza Strip in 2005, fled their duties multiple
times and left Gaza entirely after Hamas seized control of the terrorist.
Speaking to WND, the terrorist warned his “fighters” in the Sinai may act
not only against Israel but also against Egypt.
“We may not to bring all of them in to Gaza, but can use them as a card
against the Egyptians or on other missions,” he said.
Egypt has been struck several times by al-Qaida-style bombing perpetuated in
the country by terrorists suspected of being based in the Sinai desert.
