What ‘conservatives’ like on Net

By WND Staff

WND is the most popular website among conservatives, according to the public traffic ratings service provided by Alexa.com.

In addition, WND is ranked second only to Slate in popularity in the politics category and just above Salon.

Overall, Alexa finds WND ranked 2,692 in popularity among all websites in the world. WND is also ranked as the 541st biggest website of any kind in the U.S.

WND bills itself as the largest “independent” source of news on the
Internet – meaning of all the general news agencies established
specifically for the new medium it remains the most heavily trafficked.
It was founded by Joseph Farah, a veteran newspaper reporter and editor
who directed the editorial operations of the Sacramento Union and other
major metropolitan dailies before pioneering Internet journalism.

During WND’s 12 years on the Internet, it has also been honored as “the most popular website in the world” by the now-defunct European-based Global 100 ranking service, a website that allowed users to rank their favorite destinations on the Net, music groups, TV shows, movies, etc. In fact, WND remained No. 1 for nearly 100 weeks in a row – an indication it has “the most loyal and passionate readers,” said Farah.

By WND’s own traffic counts, the site attracts about 5 million “unique visitors” (meaning different people) every month. It attracts about 50 million pageviews per month.

WND was also the first content site on the Internet to begin a book-publishing imprint, WND Books, that has revolutionized the publishing industry in many ways. WND was the first Internet content site to launch a daily, nationally syndicated radio show, “Farah Live,” based on that content. And WND was the first content site on the Net to launch columnists into weekly syndication, including David Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, Joseph Farah and Chuck Norris.
