The recent stock market rally doesn’t appear to be reassuring WND readers, who have made books on the economy the top three best-sellers at Shop.WND.com, the online WND Superstore, leading off with “Bankruptcy of our Nation” by Jerry Robinson.
Robinson identifies and examines the five dangerous trends hitting the U.S. economy and individual financial security.
He addresses complex topics such as the sub-prime mortgage crisis and the rising levels of U.S. consumer debt.
And he breaks them into simple English for the average consumer to look at his or her own situation and react.
“This book exposes the immoral financial excesses of the American economic empire and explains the impendign danger that awaits a nation built entirely upon debt,” says a promo for the book.
The author also deals with 12 powerful strategies that consumers can use to protect themselves and their families from the ongoing economic storm.
Robinson, the president and founder of Jerry Robinson Ministries International, leads a Christian ministry that challenges believers to think, and thinkers to believe, through cutting-edge teaching of geopolitical, economic and cultural trends and how they relate to Christians.
In second place was the work of another author offering suggestions for consumers. “Crash Proof: How to Profit From the Coming Economic
Collapse” is by Peter D. Schiff with John Downes.
“The economic tipping point for the United States is no longer theoretical. It is a reality today,” the book says. “The country has gone from the world’s largest creditor to its greatest debtor, the value of the dollar is sinking, domestic manufacturing is winding down – and these trends don’t seem to be slowing.”
Schiff looks at the trends, explains the potential effects and advises how investors can protect themselves.
He’s watched the U.S. economy for more than a decade and reports what he sees is a nation facing an economic storm brought on by growing federal, personal and corporate debt, insufficient savings, a falling dollar and an absence of domestic manufacturing.
“From both an economic and monetary perspective, the United States is a house of cards – impressive on the outside, but a disaster waiting to happen beneath the surface,” the book warns. “In a relatively short period of time, the country has gone from the world’s largest creditor to its greatest debtor; the value of the dollar has declined; and domestic manufacturing has given way to non-exportable services.”
In third place is another statement about the economy, the “Keep The Change” Magnetic Bumper Sticker from WND.
