Kids’ vid: ‘Death is honor and victory’

A children’s show on Hamas’ Al-Aqsa Television is delivering a deadly message: “Teach the children that death is honor and victory.”

An excerpt of the program was posted on YouTube and also has been embedded here:

The program features kids singing, and according to the translation from Palestinian Media Watch, the words to a featured song are: “Teach the children that death is honor and victory. Through death we seek to bring the dawn and the day.”

It was publicized by Robert Spencer’s JihadWatch.

On a JihadWatch forum page, one participant commented, “It is in keeping with a totalitarian ideology. Hitler sent out elderly men and youngsters to the front as the allies closed in. The Iranian regime is a more recent example of this with their use of children to clear minefields during the Iran-Iraq War.”

“Islam is not a religion,” said another. “As is evidenced by the video footage, it is a brutal system of social control that does not value life regardless of age. There is nothing holy here.”

WND reported recently on a new character introduced on Hamas’ “Pioneers of Tomorrow” children’s program, the teddy bear Nassur, who wants to be an Islamic “holy warrior” and carry a gun.

WND also reported when Assud, a bunny character, was “martyred” on the program, as well as when a Mickey Mouse-lookalike was “martyred” for the Palestinian cause.

The ongoing reports have been documented by the Middle East Media Research Institute, which has posted video on its website.

Hamas, which won a majority in Palestinian parliament in January 2006 elections, officially is considered a terrorist organization by the U.S. government. As WND reported, a prominent Hamas leader was captured on video boasting of using children, women and the elderly as human shields in its firefights with Israeli soldiers.

WND also reported Hamas launched a children’s website in 2002 that encourages kids to follow the example of terrorist suicide bombers.
