Getting khakis without spending $100 a pair

By Roger Simmermaker

Ever wonder how you could order for yourself products from those companies that supply the U.S. military? Well now you can! Just visit www.USwings.com and you can get a wide range of goods from a worldwide supplier of U.S.-made items made with American pride.

There probably are more items available on www.USwings.com than I could cover in a simple article, but there’s one I wanted to concentrate on that I have struggled to find for myself, and that is the variety of U.S. Wings’ Adventure Gear khakis.

There are all sorts of American companies that offer or produce American-made denim jeans like www.AllAmericanClothing.com, www.MadeinUSAForever.com, www.PointerBrand.com, www.ShopForAmerica.com, www.TheUnionShop.com, www.UnionLabel.com, and www.BuyAmerican.com, but it has always been an uphill battle when it comes to khaki pants, shorts, and the like.

(Column below)

You can order khakis from www.BillsKhakis.com, but the prices are over $100.00 a pair. Adventure Gear khakis from www.USWings.com are a much more reasonable $33.95 a pair, which is sale price reduced from the original price of $39.95.

And as they say at U.S. Wings, if they were good enough for Gen. MacArthur, they’re good enough for you, and I’m sure that’s probably true. Also available with the khaki clothing are matching accessories like the Aussie snap-brim twill hat and U.S. military web belt.

U.S. Wings also offers American-made aviator sunglasses from American Optical which are reasonably priced at $51 or less, including the renowned, genuine U.S. military-issue original pilot sunglass. The original pilot sunglass has been the preferred aviator sunglass of all U.S. military branches for over 40 years. I’ve been looking for a replacement pair of American-made sunglasses for my personal use ever since formerly American-owned Oakley was bought out by Italian-owned Luxottica (owner of LensCrafters and Pearle Vision outlets). And now you can receive a free Top Gun cap and a free Top Gun patch with your order of U.S. Wings’ Top Gun sunglasses.

U.S. Wings was created by Sgt. David Hack (retired from the U.S. Army) in 1986 and is the culmination of love and respect of the sergeant and his wife, Lani, for the U.S. military. U.S. Wings is the only official licensee for Flying Tigers-brand apparel and other government-issue aviator jackets. If you’re ever in the Hudson, Ohio, area, you can visit the U.S. Wings store where all U.S. Wings gear is shipped worldwide.

But not all U.S. Wings products are American made, so be careful to order from the items that clearly list “Made in the USA” in the description. For example, all sunglasses are made in USA, but a small percentage of products are listed as imported and others don’t mention a country of origin.

Other types of products on www.USWings.com are made in U.S.A. where they would be hard to find domestically otherwise. The American-made Signature Series line of flight jackets is, for example, hand-cut, hand-sewn and hand-inspected by highly skilled American craftspeople in New Jersey. U.S. Wings points out that the genuine U.S.A.-made “bomber” jackets, like many other manufactured goods one might name, are getting harder to find nowadays.
