The presidency of George W. Bush – his popularity, approval numbers and so forth – was razed to the ground on the basis of one invalid claim: "Bush lied" (regarding his accusation that Saddam Hussein's regime possessed weapons of mass destruction, this being the justification for invading Iraq).
Let's assume, just for the sake of an amusing mental exercise, that President Bush's charge was indeed a lie. If this lie was Hurricane Katrina (actually an amusing if ironic analogy in itself), it pales beside the Great Flood of omissions, rationalizations and outright fabrications to which Americans are subjected on a regular basis by President Obama.
But it just doesn't matter.

One could enumerate the dozens of statements Obama woodenly delivered during the 2008 campaign that were assertions only a fool would believe, but could not be directly proven: His ignorance of Rev. Jeremiah Wright's racism, unawareness of William Ayers' terrorist past, and non-involvement with the nefarious Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). Yet, these are trifles compared to the counterfeit oratory he's pulled off with impunity since becoming president.

I had an acquaintance in high school who was a pathological liar. It was very sad, but almost comical to hear the effluvia of flamboyant falsehoods that spilled from his lips, not unlike Jon Lovitz's character on "Saturday Night Live." Every day he enthusiastically presented at least one grandiose fabrication to his associates. You knew he was lying. He knew he was lying. I suspect he knew that you knew he was lying. This means it's probable that he knew that you knew that he knew he was lying.
But still he lied.

There is no disagreement that we need action by our government, a recovery plan that will help to jumpstart the economy.
– President Obama, Jan. 9, 2009
Now, one might say that this doesn't count because it was a judgment call – but it was really a lie. Obama knew there were millions of people, including prominent economists and lawmakers, who believed that government intervention was the last thing this crisis – created by the government – called for.
But he said it anyway. Why?
Because it just doesn't matter.

I don't want to run auto companies, and I don't want to run banks.
– President Obama, April 29, 2009
Another one that can't be proven? Perhaps, but if Obama subscribes to the teachings of Saul Alinsky, The Cloward-Piven Strategy of Orchestrated Crisis, and other Marxist devices, then there's every reason to believe that he does want to run auto companies and banks. His affinity for Marxism and his ties to Marxists are so well-documented, they don't even need to be footnoted here.

Let's move on, then, to those lies that can be proven unequivocally.
Understand, this bill does not have a single earmark in it. … There aren't individual pork projects that members of Congress are putting into this bill.– President Obama, Feb. 9, 2009
Another one that's so well-documented it doesn't require footnoting. Then, there's the lie Obama has given to his promise that lobbyists would not have a place in his administration. More recently, our president claimed that he has created 150,000 jobs since the stimulus package went into effect (with a goal of 600,000 more in the next few months).

Well, this one is a matter of simple mathematics. Even if Obama's magic number of 750,000 jobs "created" comes to fruition, with 1.6 million jobs lost, he's still operating at a net loss of 850,000 jobs. That's assuming job losses remain static – and we all know how likely that is.
But it just doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter because he knows that the vast majority of Americans watching ObamaTV will simply believe what he says is, because he says it. It doesn't matter because he knows that the establishment press is effectively his ministry of propaganda. It doesn't matter because no one, save for alternative media sources, confronts this mustelid when the lies come pouring out.
The worst, however, and the most atrocious lie our president has told – or is likely to tell – is the one that follows:

I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
That would be the oath of office he took on Jan. 20, 2009. Instead of supporting and defending the Constitution, he perforated it. You can guess what he's been doing with the pieces – every day since he was sworn in.
