Who’s got the best tea party speech?

WorldNetDaily today has launched a contest to identify the best speech planned for the next round of tea party events over the July 4 weekend.

As WND reported, hundreds of tea party protests are planned nationwide for Independence Day weekend, likely even more than occurred April 15 of this year.

“They are going on all across the country,” said Amy Kremer, national organizer for the Tea Party Patriots. “Last time it was on one day; this time it is all July 4 weekend. We will have more tea parties this time around than we did last time, for sure.”

To capture the spirit of the tea parties, WND is seeking speeches that will best rally Americans around the principles of the burgeoning movement. Whether or not competitors have actually secured the privilege of delivering a speech at a local tea party, they are encouraged to put in writing a rollicking stemwinder and send it in.

The winner of the contest, to be judged by WorldNetDaily editors, will receive a free “Don’t Tread on Me” Gadsden flag.

Here are the guidelines:

  • Speeches are to be in written form with an 800 word maximum.
  • Be original, succinct and inspiring.
  • Competitors need not be actual speakers at a tea party event.
  • Entrants should include their name, e-mail address and phone number.
  • One entry allowed per person.
  • Send speeches in the body of an e-mail to [email protected].

The deadline for submission is July 1, 2009, at 10 p.m. Eastern time. The winner and recipient of the Gadsden flag will be announced in WorldNetDaily July 4, and his or her speech will be shared with WND readers.
