One of the great ironies of the liberal support of abortion is the fact that it will doom their economic policies to certain failure. President Obama has succeeded in passing his $3.1 trillion budget, the largest annual national budget in the history of the world. And we ain't seen nothin' yet. The Office of Management and Budget projects deficits of $1.8 trillion for 2009 and $1.3 trillion for 2010. The budget deficit over the next 10 years will be more than $7 trillion. These numbers do not even include the cost of Obama's overhaul of the health care system. Given the support that our big spending president has received, I must conclude that most liberals don't understand the meaning of exponential, so let's just say the debt is piling up fast.
The median age of the U.S. population is 36.7 years. Those over 65 years currently make up 12.8 percent of the population. By 2050, the median age will rise to nearly 42 and the percentage of persons age 65 and over will reach nearly 20 percent. Further, the fastest growing population will be in the over 85 age group, expected to rise from the current 1.6 percent of the population to 6 percent by 2050. At the same time, the percentage of the population paying most of the taxes, retirement and health care for that increasing geriatric population will decrease from 52 percent to 43 percent of the population. Medicare expenses are projected to grow between seven and eight percent per year, yet the population growth rate is less than one percent yearly!

Therefore, we have a seemingly irresolvable dilemma. The population of those who will depend on the generous promises of Chairman Obama, Prime Minister Nancy Pelosi and Comrade Harry Reed will increase, while the number of people who are supposedly going to pay for those promises will decrease.
Consider also the inevitably larger percentage of people who will not pay taxes because they will be receiving government assistance to remain poor under liberal policies. Of course, Obama hopes that China will continue to underwrite our debt, but just for the sake of argument, what will happen (whisper so they don't hear this please) if China comes to realize our money is worthless? Who is going to pay the bills? I have a perfectly liberal solution.

To paraphrase Ronald Reagan: "Mr. Obama, tear down those abortion clinics." Liberals have literally been biting (or killing) the hands that would feed them. Abortion has resulted in some 50 million babies' lives being extinguished. To put this in perspective, our country would have had to fight World War II for some 400 years for as many Americans to die as have been killed by abortion. There are as many Americans aborted in one day as have been killed in Iraq in six years. In order for the war in Iraq to kill as many Americans as are killed by abortion in just one year, it would have to continue for some 1,800 years. Most amazingly, for the same number of U.S. citizens to die in Iraq as have been extinguished by abortion since the Roe v. Wade decision, the war would have to be fought for some 75,000 years! Those of us who are pro-life look at the carnage. Liberals can consider the loss of the tax base.
Were it not for Roe v. Wade, there would be about 35 million more people between 20 and 40 years of age today, just the right age for paying taxes. That is not counting the population growth that would have occurred had those people actually (heaven forbid), produced babies themselves. I'm not smart enough to do the math needed to calculate the numbers as a result of compounded growth, but that's an awful lot of taxpayers. While the liberals may also claim that there would be too many carbon producers, they must make a choice: larger numbers of carbon-based biological carbon producers or no one to pay the bills. When push comes to shove, liberals want people to pay taxes more than anything else. Besides, Obama cares much more about the government's right to tax than he does about a woman's right to choose. So, closing the abortion clinics would be a step toward the perfect solution. Unfortunately, however, even if all of those poor souls payed taxes on six figure incomes, we still wouldn't have enough money for Obama's policies, but it's a step in the right direction.

Maybe conservatives and liberals can agree on some things after all.
