WASHINGTON – Barack Obama is making it crystal clear he has no plans to release documents that will assure millions of American doubters he is indeed constitutionally eligible for the presidency.
The administration is taking a hard line against releasing a copy of Obama's birth certificate, claiming nothing will ever satisfy those who demand proof of his Hawaiian birth.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs says Obama has made the case "ad nauseam." He added there was nothing he could to "assuage those who believe he wasn't born here."

"But that's not really the point," says Joseph Farah, editor and chief executive officer of WND. "This is not about whether Obama feels like changing minds. This is a constitutional requirement. And if Obama continues to flout the Constitution, the pressure is only going to rise."

Farah, who previously launched an eligibility petition campaign that has garnered more than 400,000 electronic "signatures," staked a $10,000 bounty for anyone with first-hand information about Obama's birth and is conducting a national billboard campaign on the birth certificate, has a birthday surprise ready for Obama next week.
He is asking people to flood the White House with personalized letters to Obama demanding the birth certificate and other pertinent documents which he will overnight deliver to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in time for Obama's birthday next Tuesday.

"I don't know if this campaign will do any good," said Farah. "But I do know he's going to get a message from the American people this week and next that he never imagined. If he thinks this story is fading away, he's got another think coming."
The letter, which will be individually, electronically "signed" by each participant in the program, begins: "Today, according to your autobiographical account, you turn 48 years old. I am asking you to use the occasion of your birthday to clear up a serious and rapidly growing controversy surrounding your presidency – a controversy regarding your birth."
"I'm referring, of course, to your unwillingness so far to release publicly a document critical to the establishment of your constitutional eligibility for the highest office in the land," the letter continues. "That document is a long-form certificate of live birth, better known as a birth certificate – the only document that can authoritatively establish the actual hospital of your birth and the attending physician."
Sending the letter costs the participant only $6.95 for the overnight delivery by Federal Express.

"If people want to write their own letters, I encourage it," says Farah. "But this is an easy way to get involved at a low cost and with high impact."
The letter to Obama continues:
Your spokesmen have tried to diminish and denigrate the importance of releasing such a document – claiming, in fact, that you have done so by the issuance of a "certification of live birth," a short-form document that cannot possibly be used as the basis for establishing your unquestionable constitutional eligibility as a "natural born citizen."
The problem with the short-form certification is that it could easily be obtained for a birth that took place out of the state or out of the country. All it would take is the word of one parent.

You pledged to lead an administration that would be noted for its transparency and openness upon winning the presidency. Yet, you have demonstrated a shocking unwillingness to be transparent and open about your own life story. You've refused steadfastly to release simple personal documents such as your birth certificate, passport information and your college records and papers – the kinds of documents all other presidents and even presidential candidates routinely release for public and press scrutiny.
The American people are becoming more aware of this obstinacy on your part and are growing more deeply suspicious about what you may or may not be hiding.
As you celebrate your birthday this week, I join with other American citizens in asking you to do the right thing – release a copy of your long-form birth certificate along with all your college records and passport history.
As Americans face up to the tough challenges confronting them, it is critical that they have confidence in their representative government and their knowledge that the rule of law applies to everyone equally – including the president of the United States.

Sincerely,
The campaign runs until Monday, Aug. 3 at 1 p.m. Eastern time – to ensure all letters get to Obama by his birthday.
"My goal is to ensure Obama gets at least 10,000 birthday surprise letters – and the message that he cannot continue to dodge this issue," said Farah. "Obama wrote in his autobiography that he had a birth certificate that caused him to question his own identity. Now it's time for him to share that mystery with the rest of us."
