Evangelist Ray Comfort is inviting Christians to join him at Living Waters ministry’s upcoming Deeper conference near Atlanta.

Comfort says the Sept. 11-12 event is designed “to not only encourage and equip believers to get deeper into the things of God but deeper into this lost world.”

“Evangelism is an often forgotten cause, yet it’s the very reason the church exists on the earth,” he says.

Along with Comfort, the lineup of speakers includes actor and co-host of “The Way of the Master” television show Kirk Cameron and well-known apologists Ravi Zacharias and Greg Koukl.

More than 7,500 books & DVDs will be given away at this year’s conference, held at First Baptist Church of Woodstock in Woodstock, Ga., according to conference spokesman Joel Anderson.

“We have already had over 1,200 people register, and with the book and DVD give-away and the quality of our speakers, I’m sure many more are going to attend,” he said.

Anderson noted Comfort is giving away to every attendee a copy of “Nothing Created Everything,” a new hardcover book. Another speaker Mark Cahill is giving away two free DVDs and two of his titles, including “One Thing You Can’t do in Heaven.”

Other platform speakers include Emeal (“E.Z.”) Zwayne, executive vice president of Living Waters, and Todd Friel, the outspoken host of FamilyNet’s “Wretched” television and radio program.

Last year, Anderson said, 400 people went directly from the conference to the streets of Atlanta to share their faith.

“That’s where the rubber meets the road,” he said. “There’s no point in a Christian going deeper into the things of God and not going deeper into this dying world. People are not only coming from around the United States, but from all over the world because they know that the speakers are the real deal.”

The First Baptist Church of Woodstock is the home church of the president of the Southern Baptist Convention, Johnny Hunt, who is also a platform speaker.

Worship will be led by Christian singer and songwriter Scott Krippayne.
