The government has lost its mind

There is a very telling interchange for our season, that takes place in John le Carre's great Cold War trilogy, "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy." A fringe soldier in the war of "isms" has been tortured and murdered for the secret he kept. The man's friend wants answers and assurances. George Smiley, the great spymaster called out of retirement for this case (and played so well by Alec Guinness), speaks only in parables:

George Smiley: It will cause great embarrassment to the man who sent them.

Claus Kretzschmar: Will it kill him?

George Smiley: It will do worse than kill him.

The interchange is a parable for our age. Perhaps it is le Carre's last laugh at those of us naive enough to have thought that the Cold War died in the rubble of the Berlin Wall.

The consummate orator picked to lead America down the back road to communism, and to

exchange the light of human freedom for the darkness of dependency, has demonstrated he is an empty-headed fool with nothing to say to the nation who elected him. His Kenyan tribal roots are daily revealed in the graft and corruption of his hand-picked band of pretenders.

Only his foot soldiers – Pelosi, Reid, et al. in the Congress – are still swallowing his empty words. There, they attempt to breathe new life into them with laws and rules designed to extinguish life and hope, and rob America of its future, much as they have extinguished its children.

The media sycophants who came out during the election as Democratic Party handlers, massaging public opinion, still parade daily in front of us, fulfilling an odd role they have created for themselves: An inbred mixture of court jester and town fool. They have been pimps to power for so long, is it any wonder they can see nothing newsworthy in ACORN's tax advice to

prostitutes?

Only in such a depraved imagination does a crowd of 2 million become "thousands," while a crowd of thousands becomes a million "media de jour" march. "Bring on the Pulitzer prizes; and please, could you deliver them to the gay bath house? We have our hands full here, prostituting ourselves for the destruction of marriage."

Yes, the "oh, so sophisticated and educated" media elites have believed their own lies – that they were destroyed by the Internet and bloggers sitting in their pajamas at the kitchen tables,

reporting the news. The truth is, their profession was destroyed by incest. As the historian

Euripides noted, nearly 450 years before Christ, "Those whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad (insane)." Or as God told the prophet Isaiah some three hundred years earlier:

"Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them ..." (Isaiah 66:3-5).

A government whose members can look out the windows and see 2 million people opposed to its policies assembled in the streets – and plans to implement them anyway – has lost its mind.
