WASHINGTON – Preserving liberty requires sacrifice.
It's not about voting every couple of years. It's about real sacrifice. It's about vigilance. It's about getting out in the streets. It's about making your voice heard – above the cacophony of media talking heads and outside of the range of their filters.
That's why I love Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann's urgent call for freedom-loving Americans to come to the Capitol this Thursday to stop House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's plans for a federal government takeover of health care.

She accurately describes the stakes, calling the health-care bill the "crown jewel of socialism" and "unconstitutional."
Here is a citizen legislator calling for help from self-governing citizens who understand America is about the rule of law and the will of the people – not the rule of men and women and the will of the elite.

I know it's a sacrifice. I know we're all busy. I know you try to elect officials to represent your will. But it's not working. We haven't done enough. Our country is being stolen right out from under us.
How much is freedom in America worth to you?

Is it worth a few days of discomfort and inconvenience.
I know it's short notice.
That's Nancy Pelosi's plan.
She doesn't want to give Americans enough time to read the bill and flood senators and representatives with negative mail that might give them something to think about.
So, please, come to Washington Thursday.

If you absolutely can't make it, there is an alternative way to make your voice heard quickly and efficiently and inexpensively.
It's the "pink slip" campaign I've been telling you about for over a month. It's not too late to flood the Capitol with "pink slips" – putting rogue members of Congress on notice that they will not be returned to office if they do this terrible thing.
So far more than 4 million pick slips have inundated Congress. It's not too late to send another million by Friday, when the vote to socialize health care is scheduled to take place.

For just $29.95 you can send an individualized notice to every member of Congress in the form of a "pink slip" with their name on it and your name on it. They are being sent Federal Express so that every member of Congress gets hundreds of these every single day.
It's time to step up the pressure. Let's make it thousands a day this week!
This campaign has been so successful to date, supplies of pink paper have nearly been exhausted.
Representatives like Bachmann and senators like Jim DeMint, R-S.C., have praised the campaign and urged Americans to pile on.

The congressional pink slips campaign has already generated almost a three-foot-tall stack of paper in the Capitol office of each individual senator and representative. Let's make it six feet by Friday!
If the 4 million pink slips were piled on each other, the stack would be two and a half times as high as the Washington Monument. Let's double that volume, too.
If the 4 million pink slips were placed end to end, they would reach from the District of Columbia to Detroit, Mich., or Portland, Maine. If you can't drive to Washington this Thursday, this is the next best alternative.
In fact, do both! Make your best effort to join thousands of others in Washington this Thursday and send your pink slips.

Tell Congress enough is enough. No more giveways. No more reckless spending. No more attacks on our freedom. No more socialism.
No more Mr. Nice Guy. It's time for action.
No more business as usual in Washington.
Please come to the Capitol Thursday. And please make your voice heard effectively, efficiently and inexpensively through this unique and historic "pink slips" campaign.
