Keep up the health-care pressure

As expected, the House of Representatives under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi passed the bill that would take away your personal options on health care and make it the business of the U.S. government.

It's a travesty that such a slim majority of the House could trigger such an unconstitutional and draconian action.

But don't despair.

Don't get mad. Get even.

Some 220 members of the House are now, politically speaking, dead men walking. They have placed targets on their backs for the 2010 midterm elections. They have given the American people a year to plan retribution. And the planning should begin immediately.

It starts by continuing to put them on notice.

WND's "pink slip" program will continue until further notice. It's the perfect way to make your voice heard. And, keep in mind, these same members of Congress can create much more mischief in the year ahead. They need to know you are watching.

So far, 4.5 million of the pink slips have been sent to all 535 members of Congress. We're creeping up on the unprecedented 5 million mark. Let's make sure none of the members who voted for the nationalization of the health-care system will be without excuse. Keep up the pressure, now more than ever. None of those 220 members should have a restful night's sleep between now and next November. So, if you haven't yet participated in the "pink slips" campaign, it's not too late.

The dark cloud of the action Saturday night could actually have a silver lining.

Nationalization of health care is extremely unpopular with the American people. It will take some time for a bill to be passed by the Senate, for conference committees to reconcile the two bills, for Barack Obama to sign it into law. It is unlikely the transformation of our health-care system could even be under way a year from now.

Not only can the actions of this Congress be overturned in 18 months, but it could well trigger the electoral revolution necessary to make that happen – and, just as importantly, to stop or reverse much of the insane, unconstitutional, irrational spending programs that are driving America broke.

I told you last year that the election of Barack Obama would have a silver lining – and it has.

It awakened the American people to the imminent threat of losing our heritage of self-government, limited government, constitutional government.

Ordinary, hard-working Americans have risen up in righteous anger as a result of what has transpired. They are marching in the streets. They are making personal sacrifices. They are energized, mobilized and ready for action. They are taking matters into their own hands.

This was absolutely necessary because America has been slowly drifting in this direction for a long time – at least 20 years.

It's very difficult to reverse this trend by osmosis. It's got to come in a political revolution. Obama and Pelosi and Harry Reid have provided just the impetus needed for such a peaceful revolution.

America's taking names.

America's watching.

America's angry – a healthy kind of anger.

America's ready for wholesale political change.

America's ready to throw the engine into reverse.

It's time to send the clowns home.

We should not concede any seat – not even Pelosi's. They all need real challengers in 2010. They all need to be nervous about re-election. Solid opposition needs to be recruited. Money needs to be raised. Organizations need to be built from the ground up.

It's all happening at the grass roots.

The countdown to 2010 has begun.
