Jennings 'credited' with 'heterosexism' questionnaire

It's a document that has appeared over the last decade or so in most public and many private schools, and it essentially undermines the basic building block of civilization, the family, by raising questions such as, "What do you think caused your heterosexuality?"

Now its authorship has been attributed by an organization of pro-family researchers to Kevin Jennings, President Obama's choice to be the chief of the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Safe Schools.

WND has reported on the growing demand that Jennings, who founded the homosexual activist group Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network, be removed from his federal post because of his history and agenda.

Among the issues that have been discovered in Jennings' background is his influence over a conference for teachers and children that included instruction in various homosexual acts, multiple efforts at the congressional level to have him removed, a list of book recommendations from GLSEN for school children that included XXX-rated material, his responsiveness when a porn publisher asked for his help in writing a book, his financial sponsorship of radical homosexual art and his membership in the sometimes-violent radical Act Up homosexual organization.

He also, at one point, reportedly advised a child about having sex with an older man.

Now, Mass Resistance a pro-family group in Massachusetts, has identified Jennings as the author of the "Heterosexism questionnaire" that has appeared in schools.

In his book, "Becoming Visible," the organization notes, the following questions appear under Jennings' book byline and without any other attribution:

What do you think caused your heterosexuality?
When and how did you first decide you were heterosexual?
Is it possible heterosexuality is a phase you will grow out of?
Is it possible you are heterosexual because you fear the same sex?
If you have never slept with someone of the same sex, how do you know you wouldn't prefer that? Is it possible you merely need a good gay experience?
To whom have you disclosed your heterosexuality? How did they react?
Heterosexuality isn't offensive as long as you leave others alone. Why, however, do so many heterosexuals try to seduce others into their orientation?
Most child molesters are heterosexual. Do you consider it safe to expose your children to heterosexuals? Heterosexual teachers particularly?
Why are heterosexuals so blatant, always making a spectacle of their heterosexuality? Why can't they just be who they are and not flaunt their sexuality by kissing in public, wearing wedding rings, etc.?
How can you have a truly satisfying relationship with someone of the opposite sex, given the obvious physical and emotional differences?
Heterosexual marriage has total societal support, yet over half of all heterosexuals who marry this year will divorce. Why are there so few successful heterosexual relationships?
Given the problems heterosexuals face, would you want your children to be heterosexual? Would you consider aversion therapy to try to change them?

Mass Resistance spokeswoman Amy Contrada told WND it upsets her just to read the questions.

"They're just flipping reality on its head, denying there even is a normal," she said.

The questions, she said, have been used all over the country since the mid-1990s, with "Becoming Visible," which came out about that time, one of the most utilized source books for pro-homosexual curriculum.

"It's often a first exercise in 'diversity' training at schools, for both students and staff," according to a Mass Resistance report. "Jennings said the questionnaire was designed to illustrate 'unearned privilege' that accompanies heterosexuality in a heterosexist society.'"

"Talk about sowing evil confusion in the minds of young people! This is what his organization, GLSEN, has foisted on schools in the name of 'safety,'" the report said.

Contrada also noted a brochure prepared for a 2000 conference that Jennings' group, GLSEN, sponsored to indoctrinate children into homosexual practices included the work of students, including those that tried to discredit biblical instructions regarding sex:

The full document also has been posted online.

It includes a graphic discuss of sex acts, a tale of rape and exhortations to "gay" activism."

Mass Resistance has launched a petition to have Jennings removed, as has GrassrootsNation.

At the Washington Times, a series of editorials addressed worries over Jennings' influence on children.

"Teaching children sexual techniques is simply not appropriate. Unfortunately, it is part of a consistent pattern by some homosexual activists to promote underage homosexuality while pretending that their mission is simply to promote tolerance for so-called alternative lifestyles," the newspaper said.

"It is outrageous that someone involved in this scandal is being paid by the taxpayers to serve in a high-powered position at the Education Department, of all places. At some point, [Education Secretary Arne] Duncan, Mr. Jennings, Obama administration spokesmen and the president himself are going to have to start answering questions about all this. Refusing to do so won't make the issue go away."

In May, WND broke the news of Jennings' federal appointment to oversee
"safety" in the nation's public schools.

WND also has reported Jennings' background of homosexual activism, his founding of GLSEN and his agenda, including when it was revealed a publisher of "gay erotica" sought him out to write a book aimed at encouraging homosexuality in high schools and colleges.

Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Texas, also has introduced a resolution to Congress that Jennings be removed.

"Be it resolved, that the House of Representatives (1) considers the behavior of a 'Safe Schools Czar' promoting sexual relationships between adults and children reprehensible; (2) supports the belief that any and all who occupy the position of 'Safe Schools Czar' should not promote criminal behavior; and (3) calls on the president and the secretary of education to find an immediate replacement for Kevin Jennings."

The Times said the issue isn't about homosexual acts but about "promoting sex between children and adults."

"It's time for President Obama to make clear that abetting such illegal perversion has no place in his administration," the newspaper said.

Probably the biggest issue to date is Jennings involvement in the 2000 conference at Tufts University that later was dubbed "Fistgate" for a topic that was discussed during one of its seminars.

A teacher who attended the seminar also has confirmed in a recorded interview with Jim Hoft of the Gateway Pundit blog that Jennings was the chief of the event

The teacher insisted on anonymity in her interview with Hoft out of concern for her own safety and that of her family. She addressed the focus of seminars at the conference that, according to reports, provided young children instructions on how to engage in homosexual acts.

The state instruction program, labeled "Safe Schools for Gay and Lesbian Students," was held March 25, 2000.

Multiple WND messages left with the U.S. Department of Education as well as Jennings' office were not returned.

But yet another campaign to remove Jennings is available online under the website StopJennings.org. The site tells why signers believe Jennings is unfit for the office.

"We respectfully request that you remove Kevin Jennings, the Assistant Deputy Secretary for the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools, from your administration. It is clear that Mr. Jennings lacks the appropriate qualifications and ethical standards to serve in this capacity."

Dozens of members of Congress have joined the effort to remove Jennings, who has described how he developed the strategy to use the word "safe" to promote homosexuality in Massachusetts schools.
