When I attended college, in a different America, our American government class used a well-known textbook titled "The Consent of the Governed." The latest Rasmussen Reports shows that only 21 percent of Americans say that the Obama administration and the Democrats in Congress have the consent of the governed. Put plainly, we have an illegitimate government.
That fact hasn't stopped America's Stalin from using Chicago mob tactics to enact his communist revolutionary agenda. Indeed, the illegitimate tag seems to have intensified commissars Pelosi and Reid in their support for Obama's push toward a communist nation, where the government controls not only your thoughts (hate crimes), but your body (Obamacare) as well.
The left's woefully distorted understanding of America's separation of powers can be easily seen by skimming leftist icon Michael Moore's recent letter pleading for more communism, faster please. Like Congress, however, this would exclude Moore from the proletariat utopia he seeks for others. (Moore, you may recall, has done quite well financially bashing America during the Bush years.)
In Moore's view, the president does whatever he pleases – bullying congressional representatives, senators and Supreme Court justices into submission with his agenda. And he's quite right – that is the way leftist governments operate. It's an anathema to America.
Interestingly enough, Moore also urges Obama to double down on his communist revolution before the midterm elections, when he warns Democrats are going to get an "a---whooping" of biblical proportions. Moore adds, "And after the new Republican majority takes over, they, along with a few conservative Democrats in Congress, will get to bipartisanly impeach you for being a socialist and a citizen of Kenya." Who knew?
Stalin wasn't much concerned with private property rights – and neither is Obama. His proposals to nationalize private property range from taking our retirement IRAs to putting our bodies under the national scalpel. He's also included the remaining open land in the Western states, to "protect it" from development.
Development, these communist fools have yet to figure out, is what pays for their inane dreams to redistribute wealth from the creators to the politically worthy.
Meanwhile, the big bankers and Wall Street tycoons seem to be on board Obama's communist express, and I dare say even shoveling coal under the boiler. And why not? When their incompetence bankrupted their institutions and evaporated their bonuses, who stepped in with an open checkbook? Obama handed out taxpayer billions to pay their bonuses and bail out their loser butts. "Yes, oh anointed one – more unearned billions, please! Your wish is our command." Did I mention they're still there?
The public-employee unions, which now seem convinced "public service" means the public serving them through ever-increasing taxes and fees, and unimaginably plush retirement funds, also worship at the throne of (as Michael Moore points out) Kenya's most prominent citizen. And why not? Obama promises (like he promises everything else) to restock the gravy train and then run that train over the opposition.
Anyone who thinks today's "progressives" are anything other than yesterday's communists is dumber than a rock. And anyone who thinks communism is progress is even dumber than that.
