By design or incompetence, Obama appears to be intent on creating a quagmire in which to dissipate America's military strength and resources. Most Americans have no objection to seeing their loved ones in the military risk and give their lives to fulfill the oaths that preserve the liberty of our people. It is deeply wrong to ask that they do so when the strategy that makes moral and military sense of their sacrifice has been cast aside.
As I indicated in the above quoted article posted at Loyal to Liberty in May 2009, almost as soon as he entered the White House Obama abandoned the strategic vision that made sense of the U.S. military's deployment to Afghanistan. Was this the result of incompetence? Or did it express the same disaffection with America that caused Mrs. Obama to say that as an adult she never felt pride in her country until her husband ran for president?

Such questions and doubts increased when mounting casualties confirmed the dire implications of the rules of engagement Obama agreed to impose on U.S. combat forces in Afghanistan. Now we have the report that the relatives of some U.S. personnel in Afghanistan "have accused the U.S. government of leaving defenders of its freedoms without basics such as blankets, food, feminine hygiene supplies and even bullets." If true these allegations suggest a degree of criminal neglect at the highest level of command that warrants the immediate dismissal of those responsible, including the one who lays still doubtful claim to the authority of commander in chief. Confirmation of these allegations would constitute strong evidence that Obama's dissipation of U.S. military strength and resources is intentional; that Obama's pattern of decisions and actions undermining the U.S. strategic posture is intentional; and that it is also his intention to give aid and comfort to the terrorist forces presently at war with the United States by repeated gestures of U.S. submission to Islamic authority, repeated fabrications about Islamic contributions to the history of the United States and repeated statements and other gestures of support for Muslim leaders such as those seeking to build, on the site of the 9/11 attacks, a monument to victory for the forces of Islamic terror.

The burden of constitutional responsibility for dealing with alleged abuse of the executive power of the United States falls unequivocally upon the Congress. Since Obama's election victory, the Congress has uniformly disregarded all the signs and alleged instances of such abuse. First the damage was "only" to the authority of the Constitution; then it was only to the pride and moral confidence of the people; then only to their economic liberty, their livelihood and the prospects of their posterity.
Now it involves not just the effectiveness but the very lives of those entrusted with the physical defense of the nation. Will Congress still refuse to consider, refuse to investigate, refuse to deliberate, refuse to decide? What outrage is sufficient? What damage is enough to overcome the stubborn ambition or obdurate cowardice of these congressional derelicts?

The answers are as clear as they have ever been: the outrage of the people; the damage they make clear they shall inflict on all the representatives who refuse to do their duty. So it must be while the people of the United States still remember that voice ordains the Constitution and their votes determine who shall wield the power in the government it establishes.
Do we remember? If so, the Congress shall soon be deluged with our expressions of concern, anger and expectation. Have our fighting forces been victims of neglect? We must demand an investigation. Is this neglect intentional? We must demand a truthful determination. Are Obama and his associates responsible? We must demand that they be held accountable.
The people must raise an outcry. And if Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the gaggle of RINO Republicans rebuke us, we should take heart from the example of the Lord (Luke 19:40) and tell them that if we were silent, the very stones would cry out that mark the grave sites of our patriot dead. For if we fail in this duty that will be the sound we hear as the once proud ramparts of our strength collapse into the ruins of our liberty.
