Democratic Sens. Charles Schumer and Barbara Boxer have stated to Congress that the Council on American Islamic Relations is a front for Hamas, which, in turn, is an offshoot of the secretive Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood, having previously served as a spy network for the Nazis during World War II, presently has branches in over 20 nations, including the United States. The Wahhabi influenced Brotherhood advocates Shariah law, which calls for the execution of apostates and homosexuals, honor killing, jihad, dhimmi status for non-Muslims in Muslim countries and child rape.
It has been widely reported that most major American Muslim organizations are connected to the Muslim Brotherhood. The FBI has reported that the Islamic terror group Hezbollah operates secret cells inside the United States, cells that will pose as a national security threat by 2013. Mega-mosques with questionable funding and associations are springing up in several American cities, including near the Ground Zero site in Manhattan. Americans are being threatened with death for criticizing Islam.
Questions are arising with regard to possible infiltration of the Obama administration by the Muslim Brotherhood. Radical Muslims have already recruited several moderate American Muslims who have been sent on murder missions, including Nidal Malik Hasan, the Fort Hoot shooter, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Christmas bomber, Faisal Shahzad, the Times Square bomber, and others. Radical Muslims will likely recruit more followers from amongst the growing population of American Muslims. This country is facing a national political-criminal conspiracy.

It is time for Congress to re-convene the House Committee on un-American Activities. The committee should assume all of the powers traditionally granted to it by the Constitution and by legal precedent, including the right to call witnesses, grant immunity, hear testimony on camera and issue reports and recommendations to law enforcement, Congress, the president and the public. The committee should exercise a free hand in its investigation of the radical Islamic threat and hold uncooperative witnesses in contempt.
The Special Committee on un-American Activities was first established in 1934 for the express purpose of investigating the growing Nazi threat in Europe, which was at the time perceived to be making inroads into the U.S. Headed by Massachusetts Democratic Rep. John McCormack, who would go on to became Speaker of the House, 1962-1971, the committee was charged with the responsibility of obtaining "information on how foreign subversive propaganda entered the U.S. and the organizations that were spreading it."

After World War II, and after the Amerasia spy case became public, a 1945 case that exposed government officials in the employ of the Soviet KGB and the Chinese Communists, the committee, as well as other congressional committees, turned their attention toward investigating the phenomena of American Soviet agents and sympathizers working inside the Roosevelt and Truman administrations and the influence of supporters of Stalin inside the government and on society. History has not properly recorded the fact that many liberals shared the same concerns as conservatives and the vast majority of the American people with regard to the influence communism held and the threat communism posed in those years. Liberal Democratic Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey, for example, filed legislation in 1950 that sought to outlaw the American Communist Party and to charge its members with a crime. Wisconsin Sen. Joseph R. McCarthy commented at the time that Humphrey's legislation "went too far."
An idea as evil as communism, or for that matter an idea as evil as Nazism, would not likely make serious inroads into the minds and souls of most Americans except perhaps a small cadre of elitists. The same could be said regarding any significant appeal radical Islam might hold outside their own membership and perhaps a similar cadre of elitist camp followers. Yet this appropriate revulsion on the part of Americans did not stop the Communists from trying to subvert our government and society. The same phenomenon appears to be in play today with regard to radical Islam. The most efficient way to arrive at a truthful answer to these questions, and the best way to indemnify the vast majority of Muslims who are innocent and loyal Americans, is for our Congress to fulfill its responsibility to the American people and conduct a thorough and complete investigation.
