Barack Obama's administration is about to try to jam through the "DREAM Act," which sounds so nice except it means illegal aliens will be rewarded with U.S. citizenship. It would be another step in selling out our country.
Let me tell you about my week as a native-born, American citizen.
I went to the library to return a book and pay a fine.

I was asked for my ID – i.e. my California driver's license before I could do that.
I went to the bank – where I've done business for 25 years! – to make a deposit and cash a $200 check for money to have on hand. The teller handling the transactions has known me for years.
TRENDING: Is this what you voted for, America?
I was asked to show my driver's license, which was swiped, before completing my transaction.
I went to a local merchant, where I've shopped for more than 10 years and where I've spent thousands of dollars.

The clerk, who knows me, required my driver's license even though I used my credit card for payment.
I went to the post office. They know me, as I'm in there weekly.
I could not pick up my "held" mail without showing my driver's license.
Let's see – four, routine, hometown chores in one afternoon and each required my legal ID – my driver's license – to complete the transaction.
And that doesn't include my buying an airline ticket, which requires my driver's license and other identity details. Then, of course, just getting to the airport gate, requires that same legal ID.

Ooh – show me your papers.
And I'm supposed to feel sorry for illegal aliens who don't want to have to show their "papers"? They call it an affront to their – what – dignity?
Please.
I consider their whining complaints about being "put upon" an affront to my American citizenship.

It seems to me their "dignity" already has been affronted by the basic fact that they sneaked into this country illegally
In a sane world, that's considered breaking the law.
Once here, they travel freely, drive without licenses or insurance, live, work, send their kids to school, medicate themselves and their family, accept social services and break housing laws by living with too many people in houses or apartments. Now, in California, illegals get to pay in-state college tuition!
Then there are illegals impatient with making it on their own and who resort to crime – assault and battery, rape, child-molestation, robbery, burglary, fraud, prostitution, kidnapping, drug running and dealing, and yes, murder – of citizens and police officers.

Oh, and bottom line, they use fake ID and stolen Social Security numbers as they pretend the U.S. is their country.
It's not their country. This country belongs to legal American citizens, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
The real crime is that Americans suffer because of the massive and, I believe intentional, watering-down of our sovereignty.

For all the bleeding hearts who cater to the illegals: Remember, when an identity is stolen – and that's more and more possible – it more than likely winds up in the wallet of an illegal. And he doesn't care a whit about the victim.
That magic name and number is their winning lottery ticket to the riches of the United States.
I know people living in Arizona who constantly deal with illegals. They cross private land, destroying fences and gates, stealing property and animals and leaving trash in their wake.
It's not always that benign. There are carjackings, kidnappings, robberies, home invasions, arsons, assaults, rapes and worse.

Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever deals with crimes like that regularly, and his department is investigating the murder of rancher Robert Krentz, a man who was sympathetic to the plight of illegals. He and his dog were shot dead on their ranch. It's believed the killer was a drug runner who then escaped into Mexico.
Yet, if authorities question the immigration status of people stopped for crimes, all hell breaks loose. That's what's behind the uproar against Arizona's law allowing law enforcement to ask about status. It's still tied up in the courts, and law enforcement is caught in the middle: Damned if they do and damned if they don't.
In Phoenix, Sheriff Joe Arpaio is constantly harassed and sued for following the law – the basic concept that someone who crosses the border illegally is, in fact, here illegally.
An example of the insanity we're dealing with: The president of Mexico warns of travel to Arizona (gee, Arizonans think illegals are illegal!) – this, from the same government that provides travel packs and education to Mexicans as they ready to cross into the U.S. illegally.

Then, there's the media, which focus virtually exclusively on the complaints of the illegals.
Add to that politicians stirring up unrest, fomenting demonstrations and looking at illegals sympathetically. Racial unrest is being stirred up that will rock this country to the core.
I'm not sure they realize – or care – that the damage from pandering to illegals may not be able to be undone.
For Americans who think they're safe, consider that fully a third of all criminals in federal prison are illegals, guilty of major felonies. Consider that sanctuary cities protect lawbreakers and the violent criminals among them.

San Francisco's sanctuary city policy protected the two illegals accused of gunning town Tony Bologna and his two sons on a public street, in their own car, for no reason. Mistaken identity, we're told
What? If they'd blown away the "right guys" it would have been OK?
Washington liberals want citizenship for illegals because they want the votes they believe it will bring them.
Some might call it treason.
