Do you want to know why the radical Islamists around the world can defeat the U.S.?
The answer is quite simple.
It's because we refuse to acknowledge that they are a force to be reckoned with. We refuse to come to grips with this significant movement within the religion of Islam. We refuse to wage war – or even defend ourselves – from the real enemy.

In fact, we refuse to admit the real enemy has anything to do with Islam at all. Instead, we declare war on "terrorism," which is nothing more than a tactic, not an ideology or an enemy.
That's why the danger we face from Islamists is so grave.

Keep in mind conflict between the West and Islam virtually defines world history for the last 1,300 years. Communism is but a tiny blip of 70 years during that period. Nazism, even less. But if you take a wide view of history through conflicts – conflicts that have killed untold millions – it's been 13 centuries of war between Islam and most of the rest of the world, not just the West.
In fact, during that time, there was only a very brief respite from major conflict – from the end of World War I and defeat of the Ottoman Empire until 1979. That represents only 61 years of relative peace between Islam and the rest of the world. And, even during that period, there were four major regional wars in the Middle East between Israel and the Arab states, all prompted by Islamic hatred of the Jewish state.

So how can we be so blind to the tide of history?
1) Americans are not very well-educated – sad to say. They are especially ignorant of world history. So it's easy for the politically correct mindset that only sees evil in western civilization to pull the wool over the eyes of most of the American public.
2) The elite political and cultural institutions are wedded to "multiculturalism." That means only America and western civilization are bad. Everyone else is a victim. That includes the oppressed peoples of the Arab and Muslim world, not oppressed by their own leaders and ideology, of course, but by greedy capitalists, Jews and Christians.
3) The Arab-Muslim world is powerful and influential because of its enormous oil wealth. It is well invested in U.S. media, educational institutions and politicians.
4) Too many Americans and westerners are afraid to tell it like it is.

As to that last factor, this has not always been the case.
Here are some important quotes from the past to put the history of Islam in perspective. Compare these quotes to the mealy mouthed gobbledygook we hear from our leaders today:
- "In the seventh century of the Christian era, a wandering Arab of the lineage of Hagar [i.e. Muhammad], the Egyptian, combining the powers of transcendent genius, with the preternatural energy of a fanatic, and the fraudulent spirit of an impostor, proclaimed himself a messenger from Heaven, and spread desolation and delusion over an extensive portion of the earth. Adopting from the sublime conception of the Mosaic law, the doctrine of one omnipotent God; he connected indissolubly with it, the audacious falsehood, that he was himself a prophet and apostle. Adopting from the new revelations of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he humbled it to the dust by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion. He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of polygamy; and he declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind. THE ESSENCE OF HIS DOCTRINE WAS VIOLENCE AND LUST: TO EXALT THE BRUTAL OVER THE SPIRITUAL PART OF HUMAN NATURE. … Between these two religions, thus contrasted in their characters, a war of twelve hundred years has already raged. The war is yet flagrant … While the merciless and dissolute dogmas of the false prophet shall furnish motives to human action, there can never be peace upon earth, and good will toward men." - "How dreadful are the curses of Mohammedism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousand become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen; all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science – the science against which it had vainly struggled – the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome." – Winston Churchill
Compare this with the blind naïveté of George W. Bush who said, "Islam is a religion of peace."
Compare this with worshipful Barack Obama who says the Muslim call to prayer is "the most beautiful sound in the world."
Do you see why the danger is so great?
