It must have been a shock to the Big Media when new Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie told a local newspaper his search for Barack Obama's long-form birth certificate has turned up not the proof he was looking for to establish his friend's eligibility to hold the office of the presidency but more evidence.
Abercrombie, who took office last month, told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser that "our investigation" indicates there is a "recording" of his birth.
"It actually exists in the archives, written down," he said.

Quite a breakthrough, huh?
Since the Big Media have been dutifully reporting for more than two years that they have actually seen Obama's birth certificate and that there is an overwhelming amount of corroborating evidence of his nativity narrative, this statement meant to assure Americans their president is legit has had the opposite of the intended effect.

As I have been saying since the presidential campaign of 2008, the constitutional eligibility of a president should not be a matter of opinion. It should not be a matter of "evidence." It should be a matter of undeniable, documentable fact. And clearly Abercrombie has confirmed that it is not.
Further, he has produced nothing further to show the public other than his words. And Abercrombie has much invested in Obama's presidency.

It's ironic that Abercrombie would suggest some people don't believe Obama because they have a political agenda.
That may be true. But Abercrombie has a stronger political agenda than most of us. He claims to be a life-long friend of Obama. He claims to have seen baby Obama with his parents, despite the fact there is no evidence the parents Obama claims ever lived together as husband and wife. He claims to have brought a letter from Obama on White House letterhead affirming his birth in the Kapi'olani Medical Center in Honolulu for the purpose of a hospital fundraiser, but there are big questions about the authenticity of that letter and the way it was used. And need I point out that Abercrombie is a committed socialist and enthusiastic supporter of the man in the White House?
So who's got the stronger political agenda?
It's Abercrombie by a country mile.

So what's going on here?
I thought this matter was settled with overwhelming "evidence" that Obama was born in Hawaii and that only conspiracy nuts claimed otherwise?
Now it seems the controversy is a contest between those who are willing to accept the word of elected officials and appointed bureaucrats and those Americans who, from the beginning, have insisted that documented proof of eligibility should be the standard for anyone assuming the most powerful office in the land.

With his admission that he can't find documented proof of eligibility, it seems Abercrombie has stirred the pot in a way he never intended.
Here we are two years into the Obama administration and close to 60 percent of Americans, according to a CNN poll, don't believe the official birth narrative. Worse yet, to accept on face value Obama's birth story doesn't even settle the matter of eligibility, given his contention that his father was a foreign student, a Kenyan national, a citizen of the United Kingdom.
Let us not forget that John McCain had to prove his eligibility to the U.S. Senate in 2008 as a second-time candidate for the presidency. Let us not forget that he had to submit his long-form birth certificate as proof. Let us not forget that no such hearings were held to determine Obama's eligibility.
It's hard to believe the political system in the U.S. could fail so badly. It's hard to believe the greatest country in the world could allow a man not legally eligible to assume its highest office. It's hard to believe there was no mechanism to prevent such a huge national security threat and violation of the Constitution.

But we are beginning to see it is not only possible that happened, but increasingly likely.
Please, Gov. Abercrombie, don't offer Americans more supposed "evidence" of Obama's Hawaiian birth. Offer us what you promised – the undeniable, documented proof.
