President Obama’s hand-picked homosexual “safe schools czar,” Kevin Jennings, is on his way out of office.
Jennings, an outspoken homosexual activist, was appointed to head the Education Department’s “Office of Safe Schools” when Obama took office.
But according to an announcement by an activist organization called Be the Change Inc., Jennings is lined up to become the new president of the organization in July.
Board Chairman Josh Bekenstein said, “We are delighted to draw a leader of Kevin’s caliber to succeed Alan [Khazei, the outgoing chief]. His experience both leading a national nonprofit as well as working in the federal government makes him the ideal leader to taken the reigns (sic) as Alan takes on new challenges.”
In was in the middle of 2009 when WND broke the news of Jennings’ federal appointment to oversee
“safety” in the nation’s public schools after he had boasted of using the same theme to promote homosexuality and other alternative sexual lifestyles to students.
WND reported how Jennings founded the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network, his influence over a conference for teachers and children that included instruction in various homosexual acts such as “fisting,” multiple efforts at the congressional level to have him removed, his responsiveness when a porn publisher asked for his help in writing a book, his financial sponsorship of radical homosexual art and his membership in the sometimes-violent radical Act Up homosexual organization.
The sexually graphic books the Jennings-founded GLSEN recommends for children also have been the subject of reports.
Be the Change, founded by Khazei in 2007, boasts of being a nonprofit “that creates national issue based campaigns by organizing coalitions of nonprofits, social entrepreneurs, policymakers, private sector and civic leaders, academics, and citizens.”
“Our combined grasstops and grassroots approach engages well-known voices in entertainment, retail, government, and philanthropy – and, through their megaphones, Americans of all ages and backgrounds,” the organization said.
The announcement highlighted Jennings’ work to conduct a White House Conference of Bullying in March. The event highlighted how to attack “LGBT Bullying” and the “risk factors” in that threat.
“Young LGBT people may be more at-risk for sexual discrimination and bias. Young LGBT individuals may be bullied as a part of sexual/gender discrimination and bias by their schoolmates, ethnic or religious groups or by other societal concerns related to sexual orientation and gender identity,” the site states.
In his federal role, Jennings has been responsible for federal efforts to “create safe and supportive learning environments in schools.”
In the announcement, Jennings said, “It has been an honor to serve in the Obama administration.”
The news was greeted with suspicion.
“Jennings’ departure from the U.S. Department of Education does not change his overall agenda which is to homosexualize American society,” said Diane Gramley of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania.
“Jennings told attendees at a GLSEN conference over a decade ago that he looked forward to the day when promoting homosexuality in schools will be seen in a positive light. This new position with Be the Change will give Jennings access to the policies which affect … children; as well as work to create a coalition to enact legislation on issues such as education. No, America’s children, and now more adults, are not safe from Jennings’ agenda,” she said.
“There’s really very little doubt that Jennings will use this new position to advance his own personal agenda. Jennings has spent a lifetime trying to homosexualize American society. His record precedes him and, as he did in the Department of Education, he will use his new influence in Be the Change, Inc. to promote the homosexual lifestyle,” Gramley stated.
But according to Mass Resistance, the move is good news, after the organization gathered more than 10,000 signatures on a petition seeking Jennings’ removal from the office.
The organization also compiled online research about Jennings, including reports his old organization promoted pornography to children, handed about “gay hookup” bar directories to teens, called Americans “staunch bigots” and connected teens “directly to [the] world of promiscuous LGBT sex.”
Mass Resistance, a Massachusetts organization that works to counteract the advance of homosexual activism, also described how GLSEN has played a key role in plans to “transgenderize” schools in Maine.
At the Washington Times, a series of editorials addressed worries over Jennings’ influence on children when he was appointed.
“Teaching children sexual techniques is simply not appropriate. Unfortunately, it is part of a consistent pattern by some homosexual activists to promote underage homosexuality while pretending that their mission is simply to promote tolerance for so-called alternative lifestyles,” the newspaper said.
“It is outrageous that someone involved in this scandal is being paid by the taxpayers to serve in a high-powered position at the Education Department, of all places. At some point, [Education Secretary Arne] Duncan, Mr. Jennings, Obama administration spokesmen and the president himself are going to have to start answering questions about all this. Refusing to do so won’t make the issue go away.”
