WND columnist Patrice Lewis shared with a pair of Nashville radio hosts the secret to living “the simple life.”
Lewis is the author “The Simplicity Primer: 365 Ideas for Making Life More Livable.” She and her husband run a home business, homeschool and homestead – on 20 acres in northern Idaho – but she told hosts Devon O’Day and Kim McLean of “Plain Jane Wisdom” on WLAC Radio that despite others’ assumptions, her rural, agrarian lifestyle is not the key.
“Simplicity is not any of the New Age philosophy-type approaches that some people were taking, and it certainly is not … living in the country,” Lewis said. “Simplicity is a lot more simple that that, no pun intended.
“Essentially, If I had to sum up my book in three words it would be, ‘Make good choices,'” she continued. “And if you make good choices throughout your entire your life, you’re automatically granted a degree of simplicity that is not afforded those who live complicated lives because of poor decisions.”

According to Lewis’ book, it is possible to simplify your life without giving away all your possessions, joining the Green Party or taking up meditation.
Instead, “The Simplicity Primer” addresses how to achieve a simple lifestyle from a more practical perspective, one that anyone can implement, even if they live in New York high-rise or bustling suburb. It offers guidelines for family life, finances, the workplace, health, relationships, spiritual life, home, recreational activities, and more.
“Imagine how simple your life would be if you were out of debt, had well-behaved kids and a happy marriage,” the book’s promotional materials state. “Imagine what it would be like to have an uncluttered home or a job you love. Imagine how it would be if you were better able to survive and thrive in these increasingly uncertain times. These things are possible, and following even a few of the 365 tips in this book will simplify your life in amazing ways.”
