At the American League of Lobbyists' annual meeting today, newly reelected President Howard Marlowe lit into former superlobbyist Jack Abramoff, who is in the midst of a book and image rehabilitation tour following his release from prison.
Referring to Abramoff as a "recently released convict," Marlowe accused Abramoff of attempting to "profit from the system he abused so much."
Continued Marlowe: "He was never a member of ALL, he could not have been a member of ALL. We have a code of ethics … he would not have ever lasted a day here in this organization. No single person has done more to hurt our profession."
