Subtle, yet significant changes are in store for Catholics around the globe this weekend.
The Roman Missal, Third Edition takes effect.
Monsignor Bill McCumber is director of the Office of Sacred Worship in the Catholic Archdiocese of St. Louis.
“In the year 2000, Pope John Paul II asked for a new Roman missal for the year 2002. The Latin edition came out in 2002 and since that time (church officials) had been working on an English translation,” said McCumber.
