On yesterday's front page of USA Today, the main headline read "Guns were a big seller on Black Friday." According to the article, sales of firearms hit record numbers on the day after Thanksgiving, with a surge in FBI background checks by 129,166 new buyers – "smashing the single-day, all-time high by 32 percent, according to bureau records."
In an apparent state of denial about why guns sales have surged at this time, the left-leaning USA Today disingenuously quotes a few so-called firearms experts and "reports": "Some gun industry analysts attributed the usual surge to a convergence of factors, including an increasing number of first-time buyers seeking firearms for protection and women who are being drawn to sport shooting and hunting." Referencing one obviously brain-damaged source, the daily quotes Dennis Henigan, acting president of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, as saying the "he was 'skeptical' of the Black Friday gun surge, adding 'I think there is no real significance at all. … It's possible that gun companies are just catching on to creating a Black Friday frenzy for themselves.'" REALLY!
It is obvious to anyone other than an anti-gun public-interest group like the Brady Center – which wants to claim credit for reducing ownership in firearms to generate more donor contributions – that the American people, true to the intent of the Founding Fathers as embodied in the Second Amendment, are largely stocking up on guns during this time of economic and international crisis and peril to protect themselves from the evils of a dishonest, non-responsive and incompetent government that has brought the nation and the rest of the Western world to the brink of total collapse. This so-called government – as seen with Obamacare, the threat of increased taxes and other forms of fiscal confiscation and violation of property and privacy rights, to name just a few "atrocities" – is busy invading our individual and family rights and taking away our liberties. And, all the while the so-called opposition political party, the Republican "leaders," sit by and play patty cake, feather their own nest and simply watch as the vision of our Founding Fathers is eroded and destroyed by Obama and the rest of the socialist establishment hacks, particularly in Washington, D.C., and the media.

It is evident that the people have near lost total hope and now are arming themselves to the hilt for the next revolution. And why have they lost near total hope at this time? Simply put, because they see no one on the horizon who can lead this nation back from Armageddon.
If there were an alternative to President Obama and his Democratic minions, it certainly is not found in the presidential candidates of the Republican Party. While leftist with its spin, the New York Times, in a front-page article of last Thursday entitled "G.O.P. Leaders Still Seem Torn About Backing Romney," has it somewhat right: "Even though the candidates have spent months – or in the cases of Mr. Romney and Mr. Gingrich, years – introducing themselves, there is a palpable lack of passion for their candidates. It is an intense yearning to defeat Obama that creates the enthusiasm, rather than the notion of one of the candidates serving in the Oval Office."
TRENDING: ... and a time to reap
Yes, there is a desire to defeat Obama, but it is not an "enthusiasm" given the slate of Republican contenders who offer little hope, even if elected, to turn the country and the free world around.
As I searched for a title for this column, I came up with "Snow White and the 7 dwarfs," understanding that the over-sexed candidacy of Herman Cain has not at publication been declared totally neutered. With "he-man" Herman gone, the title would have only been "The 7 dwarfs" – as the candidates would then number just seven.

As for Snow White, Michele Bachmann, she is a great person and attractive, but is not ready for prime time as yet – as demonstrated by her poor judgment in having hired Republican establishment hack Ed Rollins as her first campaign manager. Rollins counseled her to disingenuously avoid discussing key conservative issues – like the teaching of the "normalcy" of homosexuality in the public schools – and virtually destroyed her campaign.
Mitt Romney, the most handsome of the dwarfs, is in fact a liberal cross-dresser cast in a new mini-skirt, but the stubble on his bowed leftist legs still shows through.
Newt Gingrich, the intelligent, creative and overstuffed dwarf, is not only ethically and morally bereft, but he, too, has desperately changed his positions faster than Kim Kardashian prior to her own recent divorce.
Ron Paul, a latent anti-Semite and anti-Persian dwarf – when it comes to his antipathy toward Israel and the Iranian freedom movement in particular – is becoming as stale as a loaf of old wrinkly bread; I for one am simply tired of hearing his same old-same old, self-serving schtick – coupled with his annoying smirk that revels in his own "isolationist genius" every time he opens his mouth during a debate.

Rick Perry, the dwarf whose new campaign commercial suggests that he is proud of his name "Dopey," is just that.
Another Rick, Rick Santorum looks and acts as presidential as "Howdy Doody," and needs a new "dwarf name," as he does not fit the Disney mold.
And, last but not least, John Huntsman, while an intelligent dwarf and at least knowledgeable about foreign affairs, is not only a liberal, but showed the poor judgment by becoming Obama's ambassador to China. Simply put, he can't be trusted.
So there you have it; there is a present likelihood that Barack Hussein Obama will be re-elected president!

And, even were one of the Republican dwarfs to miraculously win the presidency, there is little to no hope of great, much less responsive, political leadership on the horizon. The people see this and are busy arming themselves, in self-defense, for the revolution to come.
Let us pray that violent revolt will not break out before all other options are exhausted, but our Founding Fathers, faced with a similar dilemma, were forced to eventually choose this path by risking, and in many cases sacrificing, their fortunes and lives.
Is the past a prologue? With no functioning form of representative government likely to be installed in 2012, it well may be!
