(POLITICO) — Sarah Palin on Wednesday punted when asked if Mitt Romney is conservative, saying the answer is “subjective” as she hinted at the presidential candidate’s previous “flip flop.”
“You know, that’s subjective,” Palin said on the set of “Fox & Friends” when asked if she believes Romney is conservative enough. “A lot of this has to do with somebody’s past … Were they pro-abortion before? And now perhaps they’re pro-life? And what allowed that switch? Kind of that flip flop? … Were they pro-big government? Pro-increase of taxes back then? And where are they now?”
Romney has offered “articulate explanations as to why he has changed” some of his views, the former Alaska governor continued.
“He has said that as he’s grown older, he’s become more conservative. That’s a good sign,” she said.
