French standoff ends with terrorist’s death

(LONDON DAILY MAIL) — The Toulouse terrorist burst out of his flat’s bathroom ‘shooting insanely’ with a cache of weapons at police before leaping to his death from a window.

In scenes reminiscent of a Hollywood film, the 32-hour siege at the Al Qaeda terrorist’s Toulouse home ended after the vicious gunfight – injuring two officers, one who is in a serious condition.

Mohammad Merah, 23, unleashed round after round from an automatic weapon after gas cannisters were thrown into his apartment and police stormed in.

Sustained gunfire and loud explosions could be heard echoing around the neighbourhood from around 11.30am.

As the cross-fire continued, dozens of emergency workers standing outside beside ambulances and fire engines held their ears because of the noise.
