(KTVU-TV, OAKLAND) — A man convicted of killing an Oakland 2-year-old almost a decade ago was at the center of a murder investigation inside Salinas Valley State Prison Tuesday.
Prison administrators were investigating the death of inmate Damon Valery, who was found unresponsive inside his cell by custody staff Tuesday morning. He was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
