(SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE) — A Sunnyvale woman fatally shot her autistic adult son Tuesday night before turning her gun on herself, authorities said.
The woman's husband discovered the bodies of his wife, who was in her 50s, and the couple's 22-year-old son when he returned from work to his home on the 800 block of Nectarine Avenue shortly before 7:45 p.m., said Capt. Dave Verbrugge of the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
The son suffered from severe autism, said Heather Jauch, a neighbor of five years.
