(London Daily Mail) A surfer who fell off his board and landed on a shark has escaped alive – after having a huge chunk of flesh ripped out of his leg.
The shark, believed to be a bull shark, mauled Billy O’Leary while he was surfing off Australia’s Gold Coast about 5pm yesterday.
The shark’s teeth penetrated the 20-year-old’s leg down to the bone and his Achilles tendon was also severely damaged.
