There are rumors running rampant that Barack Obama might be looking for a new running mate in 2012.
With his latest disapproval numbers hitting 50 percent, Obama is, once again, looking to capitalize on his campaign promise of 2008 – "change."
He can't do anything about the top of the ticket – obviously. But Joe Biden is, well, expendable, to say the least.

Who should it be?
I think I have the perfect running mate for Obama.

Mitt Romney.
We've even heard from the Obama campaign itself that it fears running against Romney. Obama is raising money by telling his supporters that Romney would beat him if the election were held today. That's why this idea is so perfect. Obama can simply pre-empt that contest today by offering the vice presidency to Romney. His fears will be allayed because he'll only have to face Rick Santorum in November.

There's another reason this alliance is perfect. Obama and Romney complement each other nicely as a ticket.
To get an idea of how much they actually agree, check out the website that already exists touting the ticket. It's called ObamaRomney.org.
You've got to hear the commercials that have already been made and aired in primary states.
It's a dream ticket. From Obama's standpoint, it's got to be unbeatable.
And that's why I am encouraging the Democrats to make this deal now – before it's too late.

I don't know if they'll take my advice. I suspect not. And I think they won't because they are being disingenuous when they pretend Romney strikes fear into their hearts. I suspect they are looking forward to a race against Romney – who brings plenty of baggage to the table and not a lot of enthusiasm among Republican and independent voters.
I think I speak for millions of Republican voters who would welcome an invitation from Obama and the Democratic Party to embrace Romney as one of their own. As the commercials demonstrate, Obama and Romney have plenty of common ground.
- They both love Planned Parenthood – otherwise known as Abortion Inc.
- They have both supported taxpayer funding for abortion.
- They both like individual mandates for health-care insurance. (Romney invented them!)
- They both attacked the tax cuts signed by George W. Bush.
Even George Soros agrees, as you will see from the ads at ObamaRomney.org.

"If it comes down to Obama and Romney, there's not much difference between them," says George Soros.
He's right.
Obama shouldn't live in fear any more about a contest with Romney. He should embrace him – just as he once embraced Joe Biden, another candidate who ran against him.
But Biden has outlived his usefulness to Obama. He's got to find a new pairing to re-energize his re-election campaign. The perfect complement is right there in plain sight – Mitt Romney. They have much more in common than what separates them – namely personal ego.
Help me spread the word about this idea.
It kills two birds with one stone:
- It gets Romney out of the Republican Party and clears the field for a real Republican to get the nomination.
- It gives Obama what he claims is his secret wish – to run against a less formidable nominee from the Republican Party.
If Obama doesn't seize this opportunity, I think it's safe to conclude that he really doesn't fear a Romney nomination. He's actually dreaming about it – fantasizing about it.
That's why I want to see anybody but Romney as the Republican nominee this year. I do not want to grant Obama his wish. I do not want to set the stage for his second term.
Don't be fooled by the polls.
Romney can't beat Obama. He knows it. You know it. That's why he just might be willing to play second banana to Obama – as a Democrat, which is what he truly is.
