Eligibility vanishes from conservative website

The conservative news forum website Lucianne.com says its decision to remove a link to a report that challenges a U.S. senator regarding Barack Obama's eligibility to be president was based on procedural rules not content.

The explanation from Lucianne Goldberg came after a challenge to Sen. John Kyl was posted at the Western Journalism Center and then reposted at Lucianne.com

The link was taken off of the Lucianne.com site a short time later.

Western Journalism Center President Floyd Brown noted that Goldberg became famous opposing Bill Clinton.

"She was instrumental in bringing the Monica Lewinsky scandal to public attention," he wrote. But "she won't be accused of doing the same for President Obama."

"Like Horatio on the bridge, conservative pundits that early on dismissed the eligibility issue continue [to] do everything they can to keep a vast army of activists from even discussing the fraudulent documents released by Barack Obama," he wrote. "In this case Lucianne or someone working for her hit the big delete button and removed a post about ForgeryGate, after nearly 500 of her readers eager to learn the truth followed the link."

He continued, "Lucianne has every right to control what is on her website … we just wonder why such an ardent critic of Bill Clinton's crimes doesn't allow discussion of Obama's criminal activities."

In an update, Brown posted without comment a response from Goldberg:

If you will read the posting rules at the site you will see that we request only news sites, not special interest sites be posted. Yours is an excellent and informative site and if the poster had requested permission of staff, which is routine and has been for the 12 years that we have been on the web, we would have reviewed the information and very likely have permitted it. We have these rules to keep from being swamped by articles that are not part of our mission which is to bring as much [of] what is being published in the Mainstream Media to our readers attention.

She also noted that the site has had "dozens" of articles on eligibility.

"We will continue to post article[s] on the subject from Mainstream Media sites," she wrote.

A search for the issue of Obama's eligibility on the site produced 22 results. More than one-third were from American Thinker. Other sites represented were UPI, Los Angeles Times, Daily Caller, Associated Press, Canada Free Press and National Patriot.

The original item by Tom Ballantyne Jr. was an open letter to Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz.

It took the senator to task for responding to a constituent that the Hawaii Department of Health "has attested" to the validity of records showing Obama was born in Hawaii.

"Moreover, the allegations pertaining to President Obama's citizenship have been rejected on multiple occasions by the U.S. Supreme Court," he responded.

"I am happy to report ... that in spite of the overwhelming exculpatory evidence – make that irrefutable proof, Jon – that not only is the birth certificate an obvious forgery, but so is the Selective Service Registration Card of the commander in chief of the entire U.S. armed forces!" Ballantyne wrote. "So, Jon, you apparently spent enough time reviewing the evidence to at least notice one of the two clearly forged documents proven to be so by the sheriff's [Joe Arpaio] Cold Case Posse. You and I are no longer in school, Jon, but if we were, that achievement would have earned either one of us a dismal failing grade…"

He continued, "When an official law enforcement investigation shows not one but two key legal documents to be patent forgeries, I (we) would expect you, as a sitting senator for nearly 18 years (and congressman for eight years prior to that) to zero in on such a stunning revelation."

Arpaio's Cold Case Posse has concluded that there is probable cause that there was forgery in the preparation of the birth certificate image Obama released at the White House last year and fraud in the presentation of that document as a genuine document.

The sheriff's investigation continues.
