During an interview with KMOV of St. Louis last Thursday, Obama finally got questioned about why he is taking so many vacations at taxpayer expense. Why did it take so long for any reporter to ask the looter-in-chief about that? Then when one did, he wasn’t from a network, but from a local station. The only real reporting is being done by small, independent local reporters. Big media serve as Obama’s PR arm.
In light of that, the scandal surrounding the General Services Administration spending spree surprises me. Obama has been on a depraved personal spending spree throughout his disastrous presidency, but never a critical word is uttered by his big media propaganda arm. And the worse the economy has gotten, the more obscene Obama and Michelle’s spending has gotten.
Where is the outcry?
As an overtaxed American, I am sick of it. It isn’t as if Obama’s profligacy is something new. It kicked off on his inauguration day. Obama spent an obscene 150 million dollars on his inauguration. The media rejoiced in his decadence. George W. Bush, on the other hand, was raked over the coals for spending a fraction of what Obama spent on his inauguration. But Bush’s inauguration was in January 2001, before 9/11 and the sapping of our nation’s resources. Obama did it in January 2009, fresh off the economic crisis that catapulted him to the presidency.
Where was the outrage?
Obama’s inauguration party was just the kickoff to a four-year spending spree the likes of which have never been seen before. Obama shelled out taxpayer money for $100 kobe steaks, a $20 million vacation home rental on Martha’s Vineyard and $100,000 dinner dates with Michelle. Then there were Michelle’s obscene wardrobe expenses (and how the media went after Sarah Palin for her rather pedestrian and inexpensive campaign wardrobe) and the $10 million in public money Michelle has spent on her vacations: expensive massages, top-shelf vodka and five-star hotels – not to mention Michelle jetting off to Hawaii with the kids for a 17-day vacation before our poor overworked president could leave the Oval Office. And remember his hundreds of golf games.
Taxpayers footed the million-dollar bill for Obama’s 13-year-old daughter, Malia, along with 12 of her BFFs, to party on spring break in Mexico. And yet there was virtually total silence from the mainstream media, even at this time when Americans are struggling under Obama’s $15 trillion deficit.
Where is the outcry?
This isn’t government of the people, by the people and for the people. It’s government by the moochers and the looters, for the moochers and the looters, stolen from good, hardworking Americans.
Will the activist media torture the American public with story after story about the ridiculously low tax rate Obama is paying (20 percent), the way they have with stories about how Ann Romney supposedly never worked (while raising five children)? Of course not. Nor do they mention her multiple sclerosis or breast cancer.
The attack on Ann Romney is part of the media’s war on the individual. I worked all my life, and I continued to work outside the home as associate publisher of the New York Observer when I had children, and I can tell you that being a stay-at-home mom is the tougher job. Going to work was a vacation. The feminists who degrade motherhood and exalt Sandra Fluke are misogynists. Their policies serve their Lenin/Marxist dogma. While feminists and the leftist media claim their goal to be justice for women, their real objective is the elimination of objective standards, the only thing that makes justice possible.
The media attack Ann Romney but said nothing about Michelle’s jump in pay from $121,910 at the Chicago Medical Center to $316,962 as soon as Obama was elected senator – for a 20-hour-a-week job. Your taxpayer dollars at work! Had that been a Republican wife and a Republican senator whose wife got a 200K bump upon his election, there would have been hell to pay in the media. Michelle’s payoff got no media attention.
All this is an obvious and egregious deception in the media’s ongoing war on America. The silence on Obama’s profligate spending is just the tip of the iceberg. It is indicative of Obama’s lack of character and ethics and his naked contempt for the American people. But consider the implications and consequences of the media’s silence on the Islamic spring in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, et al., and their treasonous whitewash of the ascent of the Muslim Brotherhood, a group whose goal is to destroy the West and install a universal caliphate. The poisonous fruit of Obama’s Islamophilia is a direct assault on freedom and American ideals. Consider the coordinated attacks on NATO in Kabul and other Afghan provinces by Obama’s “peace” partner, the Taliban, this past weekend to understand the catastrophic consequences of aiding and abetting our enemies.
But it’s not just Obama’s disastrous foreign policy that the media scrub clean. Obama’s $15 trillion deficit is going to destroy America’s power: her economy. Worse, we have shackled and enslaved our children and grandchildren. The debt each of us and our children will owe is incalculable. American exceptionalism is being destroyed from within, and the fourth estate is the fifth column in this war.
We must educate our friends, neighbors, butchers, bakers and candlestick makers. Guerrilla media. Each one of us must email, Facebook, tweet, skype and talk to our peers on the golf course, tennis courts, football parties, adult classes, around the water cooler, anywhere, everywhere. Stand up and fight for our families, our way of life, our freedoms, our country. No one is an observer in this war. Our very lives and the lives of our children hang in the balance.
What are you going to do today to save the republic?
