(THE MONITOR) — A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder, human smuggling and evading arrest in juvenile court after a van packed with 18 illegal immigrants rolled over and left nine dead.
Police alongside Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested the boy at his house near Abram and Mile 7 roads Thursday night.
The teen, whose name was not disclosed because he has not been certified as an adult, is one of seven facing charges after a van packed with 18 illegal immigrants rolled over along Expressway 83 late Tuesday night.

Hidalgo County District Attorney Rene Guerra said he wants to "send a message" and try the teenage suspect as an adult.
