(CBS) Three U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were injured Thursday by gunfire while executing high-risk federal warrants in Petaluma, part of a gang sweep throughout the Bay Area connected to a 2010 triple homicide in South San Francisco, officials said.
The ICE agents were shot serving federal warrants at a home in the area of McDowell Boulevard and McNeil Drive in Petaluma around 4 a.m., officials said.
Two of the agents were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the third was hospitalized for minor injuries, said Virginia Kice, a spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security. One suspect was taken into custody.
