Editor’s Note: Readers may be offended by some of the language in quotes in this story:
The Beach Boys’ Bruce Johnston doesn’t think a lot of likely GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
But don’t even go into his perspective on Democrat incumbent Barack Obama.
“Wait ’til Obama doesn’t have to try anymore,” he said. “You’re f—–.”
His comments were caught on tape as he was signing autographs in New York yesterday.
“Obama? Unless you’re interested in never having any money and being socialist,” he responded to those around making comments.
Those included, “He’s gonna run” and “I love Obama” but they are hard to decipher from the recording.
Do you know the story of how Joseph Farah reunited the Beach Boys?
His perspective on the Republican was terse: “Who’s the Republican a——? … Our guy isn’t any good.”
“Reagan and Tip O’Neill … those are the last two good guys,” he said.
The musical group recently unveiled “That’s Why God Made the Radio,” which is the off a reunion album that is scheduled to become available this summer.
The group had split in the 1990s and toured separately. But then last year, members decided to make up and reunite for a tour.
They’ve spent the last few months at a studio working on the new album, which has produced “That’s Why” as the first single.
Johnston, a songwriter and keyboard player, replaced Brian Wilson when he was unable to tour and has been in the band since the 1970s.
